Visited with a group, which had been pre-booked a couple of weeks earlier. With hindsight it would have been much better to also have been provided with menus in advance and pre-ordered the food. On arrival the ‘special’ menus were not yet available, hence it was almost 30 minutes before guests had sight of them and could decide on ordering. Starters were a little slow in coming but were fine. Main course portions were generous, and potatoes and veg more than enough for everyone. Couple of problems with the main courses though: my lamb tagine was sent back twice (first time the bowl was covered in excess sauce down the side and the plate was also not clean; second time the bowl was cracked all the way down). It was third time lucky but by then most of my fellow diners at the table were practically finished. The waitress did kindly offer to get fresh veg/potatoes as the ones on the table had been there quite a while by then. Other diners at the next table complained about the poor state of vegetables, which had to be replaced. They were also late in being served so were eating as everyone else had finished. Verdict? Ample quantities, average quality, very poor service for a group. It might be a different experience if going as a couple or a foursome. The waitressing staff did their best and were as helpful as they could be. The logistics of group service need addressing by the management.
