This place was the place to eat in St. Helens in the 70's & 80's but not anymore.
What attracted people here was the warm and friendly atmosphere and the fantastic steaks. The T bone steak would hang over the plate. You didn't care that the veg was tinned. You just went for the steaks.
This business has just been run into the ground. What a pity considerering the options in St Helens (Poor).
So I went with the family under duress.
Yes it's very dated. Not the same friendly service (is this the times) it could be such a great venue properly managed.
Mushroom starter was ok
Steak was ok
Frozen chips were ok
Tinned vegetable were terrible
I paid 75 % less for a superior steak at the Stork Hotel in Billinge.
I like eating in a restaurant with a mixed clientele. I detest having to sit next to a table of hollow heads who think because they are loud they are interesting.
Bad management always shows through.
FRESH VEG PLEASE AND DROP THE DATED METAL DESSERT DISHES.
TRAINING COURSE'S FOR ALL. STARTING WITH THE MANAGERS
