Don't let the look of the pub put you off, They really do serve the best food ever! All the food is fresh and thank goodness a place that make their own hand cut chips, heaven, You've got to taste their lamb Henry to believe it, We live in Aberdeen but it's the first thing we do as soon as we come off the motorway, A meal at the colliers,

Been a few times to the Collier Arms in Crank - can get quite busy early evenings at certain times of the year even though it's a bit out of they way.

There's always specials on & generally I pay £10 for a main course £5 starter. Veggie options inc pasta, enchiladals, lasagne, ok not the widest range of options in the world but there's always something to find on the menu & often beats any restaurant you will find around St. Helens.

My tip to eat at this pub is to go early in the evening to guarantee yourself a seat because it can get quite busy even during the week. I have to say that the staff are friendly, the food is superb and the ambience is a well-balanced mixture of nostalgic charm and modern comfort. This is one of my favourite pubs near to St Helens. For lovers of real ale there are usually several very good guest ales. I simply can't fault this place!!
