“Lovely old theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

This is a small old theatre in the middle of St Helens - there are plenty of car parks nearby.
Facilities are a little limited - no cafe just a small kiosk going sweets and cold drinks but that is part of the old fashioned charm. There are plenty of palces nearby to go for a meal before or after the show. Ticket prices are much cheaper than bigger city centre venues in Liverpool and Manchester. I'd recommend the Panto.

“Great little theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012 via mobile

We came here as part of a Groupon offer. Queuing was no problem as we didn't hace to wait long. Take your own snacks if you don't want to pay ££ for it. Was shocked at how much she charged me for a bag of Galaxy Counters. Once in there, the seating was EXTREMELY cramped. We ended up having to move to an empty row to gain a bit of comfort, much to the jobsworth girl who didn't wan't anyone sitting at the back

“Timeless”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

Be surprised, this old dated theatre is the place of dreams, a stage for established acts and up and coming talent to showcase their act.
We have been to the Theatre Royal a number of times to see Panto's with the kids and shows as a couple.
The small scale makes it a personal place rather than a large overpowering auditorium.
The prices are very reasonable and make a lovely change to a Saturday evening rather than sat at home in front of the box.
