“Too Expensive”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

This is my personal view following a recent visit

We had lunch but when I paid the bill I was asked was it OK and I said there was nothing on the plate. The person said we get a lot of complaints but the management ignore them. If you have more money than sense this is ideal for you.

“A real treat”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

I visited this restaurant with my partner and their elderly grandparents. Having been to the pub several years ago the staff were pleasant then but the food was nothing special. This time we walked and and all I could say is wow! The decor is wonderful very traditional but also quirky. The staff very attentive and all very good at their jobs. We had a 3 course meal for 12.95 and having had the roast beef the quality of the meat I would have been happy to pay 12.95 for that alone. Well worth a visit.

“Unfriendly staff and very overpriced.”
Reviewed May 30, 2012 via mobile

Went for what I thought would be a nice mid week lunch. Had high hopes for the newly reopened inn but was greeted with two young me slumped drinking and one sullen women behind the bar. Looked at the menu to find fish and chips at an astonishing £12.95 and that was one of the cheaper meals!!! Went to order at the bar and waited and waited and waited ( the unfriendly barmaid had disappeared from behind the bar). After waiting for what seemed like an age we all agreed that we would go else where. We ended up at the ewe and lamb further up the road which was brilliant. We had the lunchtime menu, two course for £11.00. The food was lovely and we were so glad we didn't eat at the navigation inn. With competition like this so close to them perhaps they need to rethink their menu pricing and have more friendly staff. Have to say that the decor was a vast improvement from before but I certainly wouldn't go back.

“Lunchtime treat”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

went for lunch recently, what a lovely little place. Fresh food, maybe a little pricey. Gets busy so may be worth booking, we ate in the bar but the restaurant looks stunning. Friendly, helpful, smiling staff which you rarely get these days which made a pleasant experience. Would definately visit again

“Food was great but expensive”
Reviewed April 6, 2012

Went for lunch with work colleagues. The food was very good and tasty but I feel it was a bit pricey the main reason being that for most of the main meals you have to buy side orders to make a complete meal. For example the crispy sea bass was 12.95 and although it was delicious it was a very small portion and did not come with any chips etc. so to add that on to the cost made it very expensive. One member of the party had the sandwich which was priced at around £5 and that did come with chips which just seemed a bit bizarre ! It has been done out very nicely since it re-opened and as I say the food itself was very good but would not visit again unless veg and chips etc. were included in the total cost. The staff were very good and one member of our party needed a gluten free meal and they said they would make something on the day to accomodate which was excellent
