This is another example of some "lost gardens" being brought back to life. In this case, the gardens were built in the 18th century with the mandatory range of follies and lakes as well as exotic plants.
The whole site takes a couple of ours to ramble around, with plenty of room for children to run around, and some lovely "set pieces". Much of it has been sympathetically restored, though some further restoration is still in progress or planned.
A lovely spot which I hope to visit again some time.
