“If its good enough for Lenny Henry”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

I have stayed on several occasions at this hotel for business. It is a good hotel for business people, or I guess families on a budget, as long as you have a car.

The hotel is very clean and modern and the staff are really good, very helpful and friendly. Beds are very comfortable and room heating is just right. Wifi is not free, but costs only £3 for 24 hours, and is reliable though not fast.

There is no internal telephone which is a bit odd, though as everyone has mobiles these days maybe I'm just old fashioned. Also no clock/radio

The old real downsides are:
1. No real public areas except outside. Fine in summer but not so great in the depths of winter
2. Dining options are limited to "Beefeater Grill" next door unless you have a car. The food is good (and they do the breakfast for the hotel also, which is very good), but fattening, underseasoned (in my opinion) and a bit limited.
3. There is a large Jet garage across the street. Lorries coming in at 4 am means you can't have the wiindows open. On the other hand, if you need supplies, the Jet shop is huge and has pretty much anything you could possibly need.
4. Related to the garage. The hotel is basically on wedge of land next to 2 main roads and a busy roundabout. You won't be going far unless you have a car.

A lovely clean room, very comfortable, modern furnishings. Bright and spacious. Bathroom great- loads of hot water, clean and lovely powerful shower. Bed was superbly comfortable and temperature in room was easy to alter using the air conditioning. Beefeater next door did wonderful breakfasts (it does evening meals too) and there is a 24 hour garage next door that sells a huge range of goods and snacks. Quiet. Lovely friendly staff.

I've been a business traveller for years; all over the world. Then, for some reason, I became self-employed a few years ago and therefore am responsible for my own travel costs. The type of hotel I stayed in changed overnight. Of all the budget chains, Premier Inn has mostly retained its standards. The problem is that some of the older sites drag the reputation of the rest of them into the mire. Add into that the truly appalling Travelodge chain and one's view of budget hotels is tainted forever. The Premier Inn Corby however, is a different story. I have a friend who lives in Corby and have stayed here many times. The staff always go out of their way to assist (in today's case, an early check-in due to a cancelled appointment), the rooms are always clean and tidy and the general feel of the place is really very good. There is a Beefeater as a part of the Oakley Hay pub next door and whilst you are unlikely to class this as a fine dining establishment, it at least knows what it is and has stepped up its game recently. I would wholeheartedly recommend this Premier Inn and would advise the managers of some of the other sites and chains to visit and learn. Now all you have to do is find a reason to visit Corby. Good luck with that...

It was our second time of using this hotel - we would definately stay again. The room was spacious, clean and comfy bed and pillows to dream on!! The staff at the Hotel could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable and pleasant. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch at the Beefeater and the service good. Definately the best place to stay in Corby

Stayed here a coupe of times in December. For the money it's pretty damn impressive - nice clean room, comfy bed, great shower...what's not to like at around fifty quid a night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had dinner and breakfast at the Beefeater next door - not bad at all. One small thing- I wish a boiled egg was included in the Continental breakfast but all in all very good value.

The hotel is typical Premier Inn; large comfy room with a decent bathroom. The attached restaurant is a Beefeater Good food with reasonable pricing and excellent breakfast with the best bacon I have tasted.

Room Tip: Book a table for dinner as it gets busy most nights.

We only stayed there for a night and were impressed by the cleanness of room and friendliness of the staff.. Good value for the money paid. The only thing about the stay is that the free 30munites wifi service never worked.
