“Looked So Promising”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

We arrived 1pm. FOH chap seemed stressed and very keen to "pigeonhole" us table wise depending on whether we were eating or just having coffee. I understand the reasons for this in principle however its important not to make coffee goers feel less important clients whilst doing this. And actually we decided to have lunch. Unfortunately, it didn't get much better. There was a tense feel, we waited ages for a table and a couple who came in after us were seated before us. After being seated we ordered the vegetable soup and baguettes. The food arrived another 25minutes later. The soup had to be returned as it was cold. The chicken Caesar baguette was devoid of flavor and the chicken had not been boned properly as I got a bone and a large piece of grizzle in it. The pulled pork was something less than average, tasteless and a little oily. The chef had "run out of dressing" when I asked for some for the side salad. On the upside, the male waiter was lovely and slightly embarrassed as he mentioned the chef was in the kitchen alone. I said the food wasn't good and the waiting time unacceptable yet no move was made to make up for this. We paid our bill and went to a different café for coffee and dessert.

“Something Different for Dunblane”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

Early Sunday dinner in the Brasserie was excellent. Menu was certainly different from the usual "Steak Pie/Lasagne" but the steak was beautiful as was the fish. We will certainly be back!

“à votre santé”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

My wife and I ate lunch in this new restaurant this afternoon. The upstairs Brasserie is informal and has a nice selection of light meals and snacks. It's also licensed, so a wee glass of wine helped wash down our lunch. Service, ambiance, food and drinks were all great and we hope to return soon to sample the a la carte menu in the posher dining area downstairs.
Parking in Dunblane High Street can be a bit of a hit or miss affair. There is a car park behind the restaurant - just take a left then quick right down beside the river as you get to the High Street.
Also, the Andy Murray Golden Postbox is a short walk from Cafe Continental - don't forget to get your picture taken beside it!
