My wife and I ate lunch in this new restaurant this afternoon. The upstairs Brasserie is informal and has a nice selection of light meals and snacks. It's also licensed, so a wee glass of wine helped wash down our lunch. Service, ambiance, food and drinks were all great and we hope to return soon to sample the a la carte menu in the posher dining area downstairs.
Parking in Dunblane High Street can be a bit of a hit or miss affair. There is a car park behind the restaurant - just take a left then quick right down beside the river as you get to the High Street.
Also, the Andy Murray Golden Postbox is a short walk from Cafe Continental - don't forget to get your picture taken beside it!

We booked a table in the restaurant downstairs (their bistro is is on the ground floor with some tables outside). The decor is quite modern with an open kitchen to view. The service we received was outstanding - full marks here- very attentive & cordial. Our meal was very good indeed, although the lamb my wife ordered was too rare, the chef tried to rectify this but it was still a bit too rare (still with blood present) - after apologising and offering an alternative option the restaurant offered use a free dessert & drinks on the house... (my lamb was superbly cooked).
We were very impressed with the restaurant and will certainly return. At last this is a restaurant Dunblane should be proud of and not before time.

I was really keen to give this new place a try, and popped in for dinner last night with a friend. We felt quite lucky to get a table as it was busy. What a treat. Great atmosphere and service and seriously good food. Can't recommend it highly enough. This is just what Dunblane needs, it's chilled out, grown up and serves proper food with a wine list to match. Looking forward to sampling the cakes and breakfasts in the coming weeks and months. This venture really deserves to flourish.

We visited here last evening and I have given it 5 out of 5 for everything because we truly enjoyed a marvellous evening. We chose to eat in the A La Carte restaurant downstairs, but whilst choosing from the menu we enjoyed a drink upstairs by the bar and brasserie. The decor is stylish and all the staff are more than helpful and attentive. The menu choices were very good and varied, and thankfully a decently "not too long" menu, which always pleases us as we realise the food is going to be freshly cooked and prepared. Once seated in the restaurant, we could see the open plan kitchen and the Chef and kitchen staff working hard preparing and cooking the food.

Every course we chose was cooked to perfection, and in particular my risotto was one of the best I have ever eaten. The only very slight criticism was the lack of some French bread to soak up the sauce from my husband's main course. But this was soon rectified by the excellent waitress, who brought some decent bread to him once she was made aware. And to add to our delight, although we didn't choose a sweet from the menu, we were presented with a delicious pudding "on the house" to share between the two of us, to make up for the lack of bread with the main course.

The house wine we enjoyed was reasonably priced. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant, both upstairs in the brasserie and downstairs in the restaurant. Cafe Continental is going to be a wonderful addition to the High Street in Dunblane, long may it continue. Next time we are going to try the Brasserie menu, and also use the cafe for a pleasant coffee break. The outside of the premises is extremely welcoming too, and stylish.

Cafe Continental seriously deserves custom. I think it is going to do very well, and I wish the cafe and the staff every good wish for the future. We will certainly return, and bring family and friends too.
