Too bad, a spectacular location and beautiful building but our family room was unpleasantly sweltering and the fans that were provided were inadequate and noisy and ruined our stay. We had read similar reports on Trip Advisor so Hilton must be aware of the issue but don't seem to care enough to remedy the situation, and when we drew it to their attention at check out they blamed the weather.

Great stay at the Doubletree Hilton Dunblane. Stayed for the Commonwealth Games and was very pleased with the accommodation, the way we were treated and food. Will recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Scotland.

we stayed here for one night in a king deluxe room, check in very quick staff helpful, our room was front facing ,nice view over the drive , the room had all the things you would expect from a four star hotel, air con would have been nice ,fan in wardrobe nice touch, room was very warm, bathroom spacious, our room had a standard size double bed , this was like sleeping on a plank, very thin mattress topped with a mattress topper, , would have expected something a little bigger due to cost of the room( king deluxe room). the main building decor is looking dated
we did not eat in restaurant , breakfast good choice and tasty. check out ok,
no free wifi £10.00 for 24hrs bit steep in price .
the town of Dunblane has very little in the way of eating places , we traveled to Stirling,

Room Tip: front facing room overlooking the main drive

Booked this hotel with my partner for some chill out time and booked the pamper stay. Due to family circumstances it was going to be hard for us to manage so i contacted hotel to see if i could cancel 2 days prior to going, girl at dront desk advised us that if we booked the full amount would still be taken with this info we decided to go instead of losing out on the money. First view of hotel when driving in was beautiful nice big drive way and gardens sadly it ended there. Checked in at desk and went to the room, carperts all stained, bed linen stained, dust and hair all over the units, tv very bad picture and remote controll for tv had cellotape covering the battery as the back of the remote had been broken. We were due to go down to the spa (seperate building) to use the facilities and we had a treatment booked, with this being booked we thought we would be best to leave all valubles in the room i.e wallets, money etc as it would not be needed because it had already been pain. Went to the spa which we had to walk to in the rain got in and got changed for the pool and went to put belongings in the locker only to find out this requires a pound coin which we were never advised at the front counter of hotel or even at the front counter of the spa where we had to sign in so we had to get ready and go back out. Finally got into the pool where there was loads of children splashing and playing so decided to go into the sauna for some me time, sauna door was broken so did not close proparly and children were running in and out ao after 20mins decided to come out. After the stress of all this I was not feeling so relaxed and did not feel like a "spa". Went for dinner and got a few cocktails which were average however quite expensive (paid less in the city centre and other top hotels). The night of the stay my partner and i didnt get much of a sleep due to the bed as it was solid and not very comfy. Went down for breakfast the following morning and again nothing to shout about the hot food was very dry!!. Check out was at 12 oclock however we left at 9.30am due to the fact we had enough!!! At check out the front of staff did not ask if we had a nice stay or anything it seemed they were just in a hurry to get us out. Wish i had read the reviews before booking! Letter of complaint has been sent. This hotel is defo not 4star and i would not stay here again the hotel is surving on name only would have been more happy staying at a premier inn with more than half cost i paid for this !!!!!

TERRIBLE HOTEL, POOR HOUSEKEEPING!!

Have stayed at this hotel before and found the staff are without exception very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, rates inflated due to Games but to be expected. Beware when staying at weekends due to weddings. Drinks reception set up in middle of bar so ordinary hotel guests cannot get near to bar or get a seat, also in evening wedding guests spill out from function room even though they have a fully staffed bar in there.

Lovely hotel and staff very friendly. Only one problem if you do not have a car and are unable to walk very far, like I am, the taxi companies are not very keen to just take you to or from Dunblane Station. The first day there my husband had to persuade a taxi driver to take us to the station and paid him double to wait 10 minutes while he left our luggage at the hotel to take us back to the station to go to Glasgow for the Games. 2nd day wanted a taxi in the morning and asked the reception to get us a taxi. They could not and did not offer any help to get to the station which resulted in my husband asking a guest to take us. Luckily they were kind enough to do so.

Room Tip: We asked for an accessible room as I use 2 crutches and was given a room on the 3rd floor very near...

We stayed here for three nights during the Commonwealth Games and had a standard room. It was clean and adequate but hotel would benefit from Air Conditioning. Bed was a little soft but ok and the room was tidied and cleaned very well every day. Our requested drinks were waiting for us in our room on arrival and the bar provided ice buckets and ice to keep drinks cold in rooms. The restaurant was excellent and the staff are a real credit to the restaurant - extremely polite and helpful. The food is very good indeed and considering it is endorsed by Nick Nairn it is very reasonably priced. All in all a very pleasant stay and we will stay here again.
