We had a wonderful wedding at the Torrance Hotel of my daughter Susan and Deryck.

The day was amazing. Gary the Manager worked tirelessly to make the day very special. The Cermony, the food, the service and the DJ could not be faulted.
All the guests commented on the marvellous day they had and I would certainly recommend the Torrance for a wedding venue without hesitation.
Thanks for a wonderful day to Gary and all the staff.

We have been for dinner twice with family. The food is lovely, but unfortunately, the staff don’t seem to have a clue! First time we were there, the hotel had a function on, and all you could hear while having dinner was the music above….. not very pleasant when you cant hear the people you are with! Four of our dishes came out, and we had to wait a while for out forth dish! We were sitting in a booth, and a young man gets us our desert spoons, by sliding them across the table to us! Not very professional! But we thought, the food is good, so we shall give it another go a few months later, thinking the staff may be better trained. So we got taken to our tables, and we were not given any menus! A girl came to take our drink order, and said she will get us our menus…. 15 mins later, still no menu! So we then asked for a menu ourselves, again, very unprofessional! This night we had a very long wait for our food to arrive, we had three different servers, which, lucky for us, meant we ended up having a free portion of chips, and two free drinks.

Like I said, food is lovely, cant fault that enough… id just a shame about the waiting staff!

Dear Trip Advisor Guest,

Firstly many thanks for taking the time to write your recent review.

I have investigated the points below and this is not the service we endeavour to provide and I have already taken steps to ensure such scenarios are not repeated.

All our Staff are trained to a high level of standard and apologies if this has been found lacking on this occasion.

Regarding the quality of the food here at the Torrance we have nothing but positive comments regarding the quality of the food produced and can assure you that this is an isolated incident.

Once again many thanks for your feedback and i look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind Regards,

Garrie Ross

I visited the Torrance on Friday night for a meal with 3 friends. Let me say firstly that the service was excellent and the hotel is lovely. We were seated in the conservatory. All of the food was well presented and tasted good except for my friend's salmon which was under-cooked and appeared to have been kept warm. She returned it and was served an alternative which was good and she was not charged for either. However there was a major problem. The hotel had a live singer and the noise was extreme. We were unable to have a conversation at our table and I can't imagine what it must have been like in the main restaurant. There is no wall between the very busy bar and the restaurant so don't book if you want a quiet meal or a chat with friends. Having said that I will probably try the restaurant at lunchtime as I am sure it will be completely different then. We eventually moved to the reception area for our coffee.
