Stayed Bank holiday weekend.
The suite room was very large and accommodated 2 adults and 2 children 2/6 no problem. Room was clean & tidy. A few signs of wear & tear but overall ok. Jacuzzi bath a particular favourite of 6 yr old. Rooms lock was too low so kids could open it so had to keep eye on them, the chain was same height. All they need to do is raise this to adult height. Food was excellent, room service good.
Expensive though, as are drinks.
Breakfast is fine, except you have to order fried eggs?. Staff are particularly helpful. We would stay again. Didn't use swimming pool etc so cannot comment

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a coach trip getaway and could not fault anything clean, comfortable and spacious rooms we would definately stay here again. The only food we had here was the continental breakfast which was good but the food was recommended by another guest who ordered room service and said it was really good and value for money.

Stayed on business, was an eye opener into the decoration styles of 1990 (around the time this hotel opened). Reception had made an error, so when I arrived I was told I had actually booked a month previously, luckily I had my paperwork to prove that they had made the error & not me.

The room given was massive, but lacking in TLC. Gripper missing between bathroom & room, huge floodlight that illuminates the hotel shining through, lack of plug sockets etc. The wifi was horrendous all week, not usable, even for email rather than web surfing.

The German beer hall & on site restaurant both provide average & slightly over priced mediocrity. There are plenty of options locally, found an amazing Thai place hidden away near the Devonshire golf complex.

Used the gym & the pool. The gym is tiny, cramped & warm. No entertainment if you are running as the treadmills are at the front of the room. The pol & accompanied changing room were rather disgusting.

The whole hotel had a rather sad feel to it. If Gordon Brittas were a hotel manager, he'd be running this place. I'm in the area regularly, so will discover in time whether this level of expensive mediocrity is normal, or whether the Coppid Beech is just a leader in this field.

Room Tip: Book elsewhere.

stayed here for 3 nights in May whilst on a business trip. The room was decent size and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was fine although the level of the fixed shower head is slightly too low if you are 6 foot or taller. Bedroom and bathroom were clean.
Check in and out was fine. Good choice at breakfast although as my booking had been room only I noticed the cost at £15 - fine if you are eating a decent amount, but not so great in terms of value for money if you have a small appetite. Service however was friendly and excellent.
I had dinner every night in the BeerKeller under the hotel which had a good vibe and was showing the football on two of the nights. The food was excellent on two nights (salmon pasta, special chinese) but the burger was only just warm enough to eat. Beer was good though.
Overall it does the job and thus is "very good" in a town where there is little competition (but plenty of roundabouts!)

Have just come back from my hen weekend here and what a great time we all had!

I had been here before a good few years back and despite reading mixed reviews thought it would be prefect for what me and my hens wanted.

To have everything under one roof was what really appealed. No wandering round in heels trying to find somewhere to go at midnight! The foyer/lounge area is a great place to meet and have lunch. Service and food all good. Rooms were all lovely too and we were
all together in the same part of hotel. My bridesmaid had kindly booked us a suite and it was massive. A great place for all 27 hens to meet for drinks and games before dinner!

We were here on the party package and 3 course dinner in Rowans with wine was included. Food was lovely, service good and wine plentiful. We were even allowed to take any unfinished wine into the Kellar Bar with us. The Kellar Bar I think really makes this place. The band was brilliant, everyone loved them and were talking about them the next day. It was nice and busy in there too with a good mix of people and not all girls on hen weekends as I expected! At midnight we moved on to the Après nightclub, again you could take drinks with you and we had great fun dancing until 2.30am.

Breakfast was good the next morning too. We were all seated on 3 round tables together.

I didn't venture to the pool or spa but any hens that did would agree with other reviewers that it could do with a bit of a clean but overall was ok.

To sum up, this place was perfect for us. Everyone had a great time and special mention again to the band. It's great value for money
at £80 for what is included. They have got it spot on. Smooth check in/out, no stuffy rules or regulations, great food and service and most importantly really good fun!

I came to this hotel as part of a hen doo and we all had so much fun! Great value for money. I had a HUGE room with a whirlpool jacuzzi bath and it was lush! The food included in our package was very good and Lazlo the waiter was excellant - he never stopped working, and even served our breakfast the next day! When does he sleep?!
The one thing that let this hotel down was the pool and spa area - it was dated, and in desperate need of an upgrade and felt quite dirty. We didnt spend much time there. The onsite nightclub was really good fun, and the staff were all lovely and looked after us.

Thanks for a great stay! We'll be back, but wont use the pool!!!

We booked a suite for our family of 6, the hotel were very accommodating with extra beds and cots for a reasonable price.
Breakfast was good in the morning, the usual selection of full English or continental.
Pool was a good temperature although the children's pool was out of action as was the steam room which was a shame - jacuzzi nice and hot though.
Overall a very nice stay.
