This was probabaly our 3rd New Yew Eves visit to Yorkshire Rose. We enjoyed a very good menu, cooked very well, served by very good natured staff, so all the receipe for a really good evening. Sadly, the wine list has always been stupidly high in price, eg, a Chilean Merlot (bog standard wine) was far too expensive. A very good profit could have been made by almost halving the price (perhaps a bit extreme). So if the price was adjusted, I think that they would get more custom.
The Disco was awful. I mean awful. The guy in charge, played his music at far too noisy level. But far worse was to come - at midnight - he got it all so wrong. The timing was appaling and he didn't play 'Old Lang Syne' properly. In fact he managed to spoil, what despite the price, could have have been a really good New Years Evening. The music he played from 9.30 pm, was not suited to the Clients age group, sadly.

Have used the this pub/restaurant many many times over the past few years both for business lunches and family evening meals, and would confidently recommend to friends in the past. HOWEVER, the service particularly and the food has gone downhill recently. We were a party of 2 with only two other tables of 4 in the whole place at 7.30 in the evening, but we had to ask each time for more drinks (soft as both driving so it wasnt as though we were being loud or demanding), again we weren't offered desserts and had to go and ask for a dessert menu and for coffee after the meal, at one point had to go and find a waiter! The plates were left on the table for a long time after the meal and only taken away after we had eventually been able to order desserts. One meal tasted as though had been precooked and then re-heated within its own gravy, the other in fairness was good. Previously been a few weeks before on a Saturday lunchtime and felt as if we were in by the bar staff who were far more interest in talking to a couple of locals than serving and the food was not as nice as previous visits, but we put it down as a one off, obviously not the case. Definitely wont be going back again or recommending.

we have been using yorkshire rose every satarday for around 3 years ,and we love it,the only problem is we arrive around 6.30 and have our meal ((( always good value ))) our problems start
around 7.45 when we retire to the bar. having got to know a lot of customers and staff we tend to be the last out. we used to get a taxi but of course not driving tends to make us consume far more drink than is good for our health ,my wife now drives ,so we do now try other venue,s in the area for a change ,this said we will always continue to visit the yorkshire rose ,we do like it there and the food is always good ,our problem has been with the drink, we would highley recommend a visit to the yorkshire rose for people that like a nice friendly atmosphere with food at a reasonable price

I do not recommend you eat here based on the meal a few of had a lunchtime. Lasagne was clearly nuked in the microwave with very little meat it has no layers and was more of a soup than anything else, for £8.50 it was a rip-off. Friends ordered Risotto £10.50! and Chicken curry. Both reported that they'd had better ready-meals.

Service was patchy.
