“Great spot!!!”
Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

Found this by accident on the way to Byron Bay. Super little holiday park, very good amenities and a great beach on you doorstep. Reception super friendly and helpful, only 8min drive to Byron Bay and much quieter. Little Suffolk village has an amazing bakery, sells super delicious food, great coffee etc. The whole place has a slightly alternative vibe in the nicest possible way, people doing their yoga early morning on the beach. Would come back here in a jiffy. Sad to leave!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Suffolk Park. We are boutique tent makers and were welcomed warmly by Paul and the team who let us display our Lotus Belle tent and welcomed the opportunity for people to come check it out. We found the fellow campers warm and friendly and really noticed how quite and peaceful a place it was, especially at night! The site is very close to the tea tree lake and were delighted to find a yummy bakery near by with delicious coffee. I would definitely recommend Suffolk Park Caravan Park. It's a little drive out of town but that just adds to the magic. See you guys again soon.

I normally stay here at Easter, but this time stayed for just one night transmitting through Byron. As always the managers in this park take the award for the most relaxed, friendly and helpful people. They not only are happy to have you stay, they make sure it all goes well for you. Two years ago arrived without tent pegs, and within minutes they gave an unlimited supply of pegs to borrow for the duration if my stay. On this occasion I arrived late, and with just one phone call a gentlemans agreement was all I needed to get in after hours, and access all facilities. If you want to stay at a place where you feel welcome - this is it!
Good amenities, good camp kitchen and BBQ area. And it's 20 meters walk to the beach.

We stayed here for two nights, right by the beautiful Tallow Beach. Welcome was very friendly, and we were offered buy one night get one free for our camper - brilliant. Showers toilets were clean and the camp kitchen was immaculate. Lovely friendly and helpful site. The free WiFi was excellent too.

Thank-you very much for your kind words, we also value our lovely beachfront location. We are often looking at ways to offer specials where we can during the quiet times.
Thanks again

I stayed here for 2 nights with a group of friends, we were in 2 cabins, there are no grounds (park area) under nice shady trees...... as the picture on the site lead you to believe, all cabins are on top of one another and in the middle of the residential caravan park dwellers. On the first night at 950pm a man appeared from nowhere at our cabin claiming to be security.... (no uniform, or identification) dressed in tshirt and shorts no shoes, saying his mate across from us had to get up at 4am so could we be quiet. We had no music playing we were sitting within the confines of our cabin area, not causing any trouble, throughout our stay there were residents (Men) lurking around the park through the night. The next night at 8pm another man appeared in our cabin area claiming to be the caretaker, he asked us if we were having a nice time????? he again dressed in tshirt and shorts (no uniform, or identification) and proceeded to tell us to be quiet,, again we were just sitting talking no music within our cabin area. We then questioned him regarding who was the person that said they were security last night,, he replied we dont have security and he did not know who it was???? He then told us that he could have us thrown out at any time of the night!!!! we were 5 women and three children all females???.
During the day the manager was watering our garden for a good 20 minutes and had said nothing to us at all. I found this so called holiday park creepy and did not feel comfortable at all having two men walk in to our cabin confine trying to intimidate us for no reason, and the so called caretaker seemed to me to be intoxicated, trying to stand over us and threatening to throw us out..... for sitting in the cabin we paid for, for just talking. This was a Friday and Saturday night. Not a good place to have a holiday at all, you are told when to go to bed and the residents feel they have the right to enter your cabin and threaten you.

We always welcome guest feedback and/or criticism to help us improve the parks operations. We are very proud of the parks growing positive reputation with families, young people, grey nomads and international guests; while providing affordable accommodation for our permanent residents. As managers we became aware of these issues only after the guest departed and we read this review on Tripadvisor. Our office is open everyday from 7.30am to 7.30pm (NSW time) and we (the managers) live onsite.
The park was fully booked and busy over the weekend mentioned. With over 200 men, women and children of all ages, walking around and utilising the park during the day and at night. We do not have a full time after hours security service so we ask and expect people to do the right thing and consider others by being quiet after 10pm (NSW time).
The first incident did involve a nearby resident who politely asked the group to be quiet at about 10.50pm NSW time. The second incident at about 8pm NSW time involved one of our staff supervising the park while we (resident managers) went out for dinner.
Our website is an accurate representation of the parks facilities and environment with its extensive shady trees and cabins with a covered outdoor living area.

Paul and Maree Brooks

I recently stayed in a safari tent with my family and we enjoyed our stay here. Good value for money in the Byron area. Direct beach access to Tallows beach, which is gorgeous. Adequate camp kitchen with an excellent outdoor eating area- really nice. No facilities for the kids, but mine are young and they were happy chasing bush turkeys and other birds and loved the beach. Easy walk to good kids playground and local shops, pub, restaurants. A bench in the shower cubicles would be nice. Lots of hot water. Camp sites look tiny and the safari tent we stayed in was surrounded completely by other safari tents, tents and a caravan, so no real privacy. A bit noisy with a road directly next to the holiday park. Park itself is tiny. The lock in the sliding door literally fell out of the door the first time we used it and upon telling the manager at the time we were assured that theft was a rare occurrence. No offer to fix it in our 6 day stay. Yoga classes are held a few times a week in the community hall, which is literally next door to the holiday park, which I loved.

Room Tip: Be aware that campsites and safari tent sites are small.

We appreciate your positive comments and we welcome your critical feedback.
Firstly we would like to apologise for the internal communication breakdown between the office and maintenance staff about the broken lock for the sliding weather panel. We would just like to note though that the security door lock was still operational.
Also in regards to your comments on the site sizes within the park we have 50 powered sites (all sites within the park are powered) that range in sizes from 3m x 4m up to 9m x 8.5m.

What a lovely caravan/holiday park. Visited Byron Bay in October and was trying to find a caravan park with a bit of character, well Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park is GREAT. Nicely situated only five minutes from Byron Bay center and right on the beach (no views) towards the southern end of the beach, with less than half a minute stroll to one of the nicest beaches in the area.

This place is only small compared to a lot of caravan parks that I have visited. All staff were very friendly and extremely pleasant and helpful. I originally was going to stay one night, on arrival the park was so nice that I decided to stay 2 nights and then in the afternoon I decided to stay 3 nights. Went to reception to extend, and very happily they extended for the third night, then was pleasantly surprised when they advised me that as I was staying three nights, the third night would be free. :)

The amenity block was very clean during my stay and the park was nice and tidy throughout. This area was very quiet and peaceful and at least half of the sites had some shade cover from the tree canopy.

There is a small supermarket/liquor store at the end of the street which is very convenient. Then there were so many restaurants and cafes only five minutes away in Byron Bay Center.

I did a lot of walking tracks during my stay, with my favorite being the Byron Point Lighthouse track, well worth the visit.
