“Worth Queuing To Get In”
Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

Didn't fancy my chances of getting a table for one on a busy Saturday but was told there may be a 20 minute wait and was invited to stay in their comfortable waiting area.
Shortly, my name was called and I was shown to a table along with an apology that it was indoors!
I chose the rib eye steak with potato wedges and side salad washed down with a half bottle of La Valette red wine. The meat was tender and the wedges were crisp.
The atmosphere was lively and buzzy with music to match. Head outside if you want quiet and romantic.
Service was very attentive and friendly and the waiters were the most attractive I've encountered in St Julien's.
Go early to guarantee a table. People were queuing down the steps by 8.30.
I passed several empty restaurants en route to the Padre so they are clearly doing something very right.

“Make sure you sit outside if possible”
Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

We waited a little longer for a table so that we could sit outside. The food was good, the staff friendly and efficient, but that wasn't the main reason we loved it.

If you get a chance, throw a bit of bread into the water. The local fish go mad for it and they swarm around it. It's truly breath taking to watch and it is the location of the restaurant that makes it possible to enjoy.

“Great food,not overpriced”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Went there twice during our eight day stay. Their pizzas are the tastiest on the island and for a starter their bruscetta is a meal in itself. Go there you wont be disappointed.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We came across Piccolo Padre by chance, we had tried the Barracuda next door but they were full and judging by the attitude of the staff I am pleased we didn't eat there.
But Piccolo Padre was great the atmosphere was good, the menu had great variety and a good choice of wines all at very competitive prices. The staff were friendly and efficient.
The bruchetta was really tasty and the rabbit was great.
Great value for money. Highly recommended.

“Excellent menu!”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

The have a wonderfully creative menu in comparison to other restaurants in the area, including the wines. Delightful setting overhanging the waters edge in what seems to be the basement of an old villa or wee fort. We shared calamari and I had smoked swordfish, salmon and leek tagliatelle my partner had Maltese sausage, Gozo cheese rigatoni in a tomato cream sauce. All perfect. Service was not anything to rave about but nothing to complain about either. From the outside it seems quite formal and pricey but the menu is the same price as everywhere else we saw and ate in but the standard was a lot higher. Might go back tonight for our last meal! It would be a mistake to miss this place!
