“A lovely dinner”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

My husband and I went to Blue Elephant for the first time yesterday, for our first anniversary. We were seated at a gorgeous table by the "river". The atmosphere was absolutely incredible, it felt almost surreal! We both enjoyed the experience and I can say that it was overall a lovely dinner.

PROS:
beautiful atmosphere
friendly staff
quick service
beautiful display of food
great food
great menu - spoilt for choice!
generous portions
complimentary "happy anniversary" cake. This was a lovely surprise for us!

CONS:
dessert was rather unimaginative - 3 of the 6 dessert items were tiny slices of "exotic" fruits which you could easily find at your local grocer.
the menu is on the pricier side; wine is ridiculously overpriced
rather noisy when busy
service was a bit rushed when compared to other restaurants.

In conclusion, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We left with full satisfied bellies and smiles on our faces! Considering the pros and cons, we will likely visit again, but we'll probably try out a different restaurant for our next special occasion.

“Incredible experience!”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

My husband wanted to surprise me so he took me to the Blue Elephant. I was so excited as dining at the Blue Elephant is not just about eating good food but a complete dining experience. Everything here is great, from the food to the ambience to the service and the high level of cleanliness.

We chose the Royal Thai set menu where you can taste several traditional Thai dishes. Cocktails are simply amazing!

I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you want to make a great impression!

“BEAUTIFUL”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

Absolutely beautiful restaurant and gorgeous food. There was 7 adults and 2 babies and we were fed really well, even my 11 month old got egg fried rice when I asked the waitress for something baby friendly.

“Pleasant as always”
Reviewed April 26, 2014 via mobile

It had been a few years since my last visit and the place is still as gorgeous as ever! You're taken into another world once past those doors. I have to disagree with some of the previous reviews as the staff were extremely attentive and kind.
It was a Friday night, the place was pretty busy and we had made reservations that morning. The first table they kept for us wasn't to our liking so they let us choose another available one...no questions asked.

Cocktails looked great (relatively pricey though), food arrived within a decent timeframe...warm and tasty. The menu is extensive, including a vegetarian section. Something for everyone to choose from. We skipped desert this time round but their regular exotic fruit with icecream is a no-brainer. Don't come to a thai restaurant expecting amazing cheesecake!!!

The only drawback is that it is relatively expensive compared with other nearby places who offer equally delicious food for more than half the price. Those who have been to Thailand know how cheap all these dishes are to make. But then again, you are paying for the luxury, the location and the service at a Hilton hotel restaurant. If you're tired of the mediterranean cuisine and want to try something new, it's worth the experience. Occasional splurging is good for the soul :)

“Not impressed with service or cold food”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

We entered and shown into a beautiful tea house, 12 people. The service was slow. We chose the Royal Thai banquet as easier with large group of people. We sat down at 7.30pm, the restaurant was still quiet. We waited a long time for starters and when they came were ok. Had much better, we then had to wait ages for soup, which was again ok. Then finally the main courses arrived, looked great in large stands but the food was COLD! The waitress didn't seem impressed and took away with saying anything! We again had to wait ages again, NO Member of staff came to say SORRY. I thought customer service was POOR. I eventually went to find somebody and they thanked me for bringing this to their attention. It was now 9.30am. Finally main course arrived, ok, had better in England. The evening was meant to be a special occasion and with a bill over €500 euros you would expect better. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
