The Juliani lives up to it's characterization as a 'boutique' hotel. There aren't a large number of rooms, but the hotel has all the amenities of a large hotel. The staff was courteous and usually very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and modern. We were on the 8th floor, away from the road and had no trouble with noise. The roof top pool was great, being both a nice place to get some sun, and a great view of the bay. Breakfast was good with a good variety of food and some Maltese specialties that were delicious. We were allowed to use the pool towels when we went to the Blue Lagoon in Comino. It's a bit pricy but you get what you pay for.

St. Julians is one of the more popular tourist spots with a number of restaurants nearby as well as all the shopping you need in the nearby St. George Bay Street complex. The Plaza Shopping center and Bisazza Street in Sliema are only a 20-30 minute walk away..

There's parking at the hotel but the traffic in Malta is horrendous given the narrow roads, wide busses, lots of cars and scooters, and left-side driving.

Check the hotel's website for deals on longer stays, airport transfers, etc..

The hotel is right across the street from the bus stop but traveling by bus has its issues. See my reply to the post on Public Transport on Malta and Gozo, http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g608948-i11647-k7564525-Public_Transport_on_Malta_and_Gozo-Bugibba_Island_of_Malta.html#59388464.

Exactly what you would want from a boutique. Good location for exploring the country, great in-house restaurant and beautiful views from the balcony. Room was clean and well-equipped. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel it is a beautiful walk from the hotel along to promenade towards Sliema.

This hotel is in an excellent location on Spinola Bay, within walking distance of all the restaurants and nightlife you could wish for. Buses run from right outside the hotel but their noise didn't intrude into the hotel. Several times we walked from the hotel round the bays to Sliema.

We stayed for seven nights in a standard room and were then upgraded for free for our last night to one of the suites at the front of the hotel (I think they felt sorry for us because one of our tour operators let us down). This would have cost a bit more than a standard room, but it had a large balcony and a wonderful view of the bay. Our standard room had a postage stamp-sized balcony and a partial view of the bay, but it was still comfortable and pleasant. With hindsight, I think I should have paid extra for the suite.

Overall, the hotel was excellent. Both rooms we stayed in were quiet despite facing the front, with a large, comfortable bed and the aircon and bathroom all worked fine.

The breakfast was a bit limited - there was only one fruit salad on offer rather than a choice of fruits. There was a range of cereals, bread, meats and cooked food, plus the option of cooked-to-order eggs. The staff at breakfast were friendly and efficient too. The main issue we had was that if we came down late, the dishes were often not replenished.

There's a small pool on the roof which was apparently a bit cold (we were there in May), but the rooftop terrace has stunning views over the bay and surrounding area and we both got lovely suntans relaxing there.

Overall, this is a very pleasant boutique hotel with a relaxing atmosphere and excellent location.

Room Tip: It's worthwhile paying the extra for one of the rooms on the front - we spent loads of time sitt...

We booked this hotel after looking at reviews from other Trip Advisor users. We have just returned from a 7 night holiday and were not disappointed. The Juliani is perfect in every way, from the lovely warm welcome to our efficient departure. All the staff are very friendly and courteous. The decor is lovely and fresh and all the public areas, as well as the bedrooms, are spotless with daily maid service. We stayed in a double room without a sea view, but if you want to pay extra you can book a room overlooking the lovely Spinola Bay. There is a small rooftop swimming pool and towels are provided. The location of the Juliani is excellent, with a bus stop across the road for local buses, of which the 12 and 13 take you to the capital Valletta. There are lots of choices of good restaurants nearby especially Vermell Restaurant and Lulu if you want a more expensive, but beautifully cooked meal. Across the road there is also a long promenade for a stroll, or if more energetic you can jog or run to Sliema! We will definitely recommend the Juliani to our family and friends.

We are still staying in this hotel as im writing this review.

We booked for 9 days for our honeymoon.

Check-in was perfect, excellent breakfast and a wonderfull room (junior suite).

Everything is walking distance and if u wanna go to the capital Valetta, the busstop is right in front of the hotel!

I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and if we would come back to Malta, we wouldnt bother looking out for a different hotel.

Everything is fantastic !

The hotel couldn't be more convenient for local buses and the hop on/off tour service. As well as
its own excellent restaurant there is a choice of eating places nearby, and the staff and
surroundings make it a comfortable place to spend the time. Step out of the door and you have
the lovely bay with its enjoyable promenade for walking.

This hotel is in an ideal location on Spinola Bay, close to many good restaurants, bars and things to do. Buses run from right outside to other major spots on the island, and it's a nice walk along the cost up to Sliema.

We stayed for six nights in a junior suite. This cost a little more than a standard room, but had a good-size balcony and a beautiful view of the bay.

We spent quite a lot of time on the balcony, looking at the view (there was always something interesting going on out there), reading and drinking, so I think it's definitely worth springing the extra for this .

Overall, this hotel was excellent. The room was quiet, with a large, exceptionally-comfortable bed. The included breakfast was good, with a wide range of cereals, fruit, bread, meats and cooked food, plus the option of cooked-to-order eggs. The staff at breakfast were friendly and efficient too.

We only had two (very) minor issues with the room. The tap on the bath had a poor flow, which meant it took a long time to fill. (The shower and water pressure in general was absolutely fine.) And the air-con only seemed to have two settings: full-on and off. We stayed cool and had no problems sleeping as a result, but sometimes the room felt a bit over-cooled, which struck me as inefficient.

The pool on the roof was enjoyable but cold, with nice views over the surrounding area.

When looking at hotels in St Julian's, we also considered the Westin and Hilton. Both were priced similarly (or perhaps cheaper), but having wandered up to both of them while on holiday, I think we made the right choice with the Hotel Juliani. It has a boutique feel that neither of the larger hotels could match, with facilities and services that were comparable and a much better location.

Overall, highly recommended!

Room Tip: Definitely worth spending the extra for a room at the front with a view. Noise is not a problem as l...
