Choes this hotel based on Tripadvisor recommendations and was not disappointed. Location is fabulous overlooking Spinola bay. Bus stop opposite hotel with transport links all over the island. Would recommend the sight-seeing tour if only to get a feel for and see the whole island as it is tempting to stay in and around Spinola bay! Staff are excellent, very courteous and professional but also friendly. Free high-speed wifi throughout hotel. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast is excellent with really good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Small but well-appointed rooftop pool area. Excellent restaurants nearby. Special mentions to Meat and Co, Dolce Vita(although a little pricier) and Zeris in nearby Portmaso, a five minute walk around the corner. I have eaten in the hotels own restaurant Zest and it is also really good-popular with locals as well as tourists. The hotel staff also recommend Barracuda around the corner in Balluta Bay and having eaten here on a previous trip I can also recommend it. All in all this is an excellent hotel with plenty of choice for eating out within walking distance!

We stayed there 9 days. Lovely little hotel! The best staff in the reception I have ever met during 400+ trips. They were so helpful! Ilham - can't forget her beautiful smile when she met us - the welcome drink was not even necessary after that :) Caroline - she's simply the best, Sasha - so helpful, did a great job giving directions, and when internet connection was once lost in the entire area due to heavy rain, he offered a replacement laptop with local card; Alfred and Robert - thanks for your friendship again. The cleaning personel also very friendly and they like to communicate a lot. This makes you feel at home throughout entire stay. I can not empasize enough the staff input into the perfection of this hotel. The management should be proud of them. Btw, I was absent-minded, and as usual left my charger in the room on the day of departure, now I have it again - the staff did the best to post it to my address free of charge.
Great place to stay! Recommend to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in the junior suite and do not regret a second about it. The view of the Spinola bay is go...

Hotel Juliani was a great location for us as we have family in the local area. The staff were all fantastic, nothing was ever to much trouble and all very freindly and made you feel very welcome. We stayed for 7 nights on a B&B basses and the hotels breakfast was a great way to start the day.

We chose Hotel Juliani as a result of Trip Advisor reports . We were not disappointed. We were made most welcome by Caroline on reception. She kindly gave us a free upgrade to an Ambassador Suite (room 503.) This comprised a very large bedroom with 3-piece suite and 2 plasma TV's and minibar. The room was beautifully decorated and immaculate with balcony directly overlooking Spinola Bay. Bathroom spotless. Large comfortable bed with Egyptian cotton sheets. Breakfast was excellent with a large selection of hot and cold dishes. Staff were friendly and professional at all times. Small rooftop pool with lovely views. Hotel very conveniently placed on harbour front with bus stop directly opposite. We bought an "All Day "ticket for E2.60 each which enables you to travel all over the island. There are many excellent restaurants and bars within yards of the hotel. Overall a small 40 bedroomed beautifully maintained boutique hotel with exceptional eye to detail. A refreshing change from the large impersonal chain hotels in the resort. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Worth the extra supplement for a harbour view

My best friend and I fancied a quick break in the sun, in Malta, we had both been here before, myself many times. I found this hotel as a result of an online recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The location was great, just across the road from Spinola Bay, so the views were fantastic. the Hotel it's self was stylishly decorated, very comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and very friendly. We chose the B & B option and it was well worth it, the breakfast was fab!
I would definitely return here, but next time would choose a room with a sea view, as our room had no view at all, except the sky at the top of a ventilation shaft. The hotel also had its own restaurant, but we didn't try it although it was also highly recommended, but there are plenty of good value restaurants nearby.
There are excellent transport links, with a bus stop opposite, with a frequent bus service into Valletta.
All in all a brilliant short break away.

This was my second stay in the Juliani and the impression remains. My standard room was adequate and situated in a quiet area of the hotel, in short I got what I paid for. The breakfast is standard but the service fast and friendly. Good service is probably the main reason why this hotel comes so high in the rating of hotels in Malta. I can only joun others in recommenting the Juliani.

We stayed at the Hotel Juliani 18/10/12 to 26/10/12. I won't bore you all with details about the hotel and more pictures of Spinola Bay (which are all accurate). I will say that this was the best holiday we have ever been on, and that was down to a combination of the wonderful Maltese people who are unbelievably kind; the amazing hotel which was clean, tidy and spacious; and staff who will do anything to make you feel like king and queen; and the relaxing atmosphere that all of these things create together.

From the minute we arrived home, we have both dreamt of returning to the Juliani and have now booked to return in June 13...we cannot wait to see you all again

Room Tip: Sea view is a must!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Juliani, a 4 star hotel, is Malta's small design boutique hotel enviably located in the heart of Spinola Bay, St Julian's. In fact, you're never more than 25 minutes away from most parts of the island, including the beautiful baroque capital of Valletta. Originally a traditional seafront townhouse, the Juliani has been meticulously converted to provide 47 rooms, an intimate setting and very personalised service to its guests. Today it remains a family-run establishment committed to ensuring you feel at home and well looked after. Each hotel room offers excellent facilities, fresh Mediterranean decor and plenty of space. Many also boast unobstructed sea views, and you will be able to watch the colourful fishing boats bobbing on the water from the comfort of your balcony or the rooftop swimming pool. Meanwhile, as a cosmopolitan commercial and entertainment district, St Julian's surrounds you with many of the best restaurants, bars, conference centres, casinos, health spas and shops that Malta has to offer. ... more   less
