In September I stayed at the Hotel Juliani in St Julian's Bay Malta. The hotel only had 48 bedrooms. They were well furnished in lovely pastel colours and very comfortable. However, do not think that when you are offered a junior suite you will get two separate rooms it is just one big room - really no bigger than an ordinary hotel room and, of course, you pay more. Breakfast at the hotel was very good and you must try the restaurant Zest which is attached to the hotel it is excellent but expensive. The staff in the bar area were lovely mainly Polish and Rumanians extremely helpful unlike the staff on Reception who could be a little cold apart from Caroline. It was very nice that the owner Erika actually took time out to come and talk to the guests including us she was delightful and very much a hands-on boss. The only downside to this hotel is that it is on a very busy, noisey road so if you are looking for peace and quiet do not stay here - although the double glazing was excellent you couldn't really sit out on the balcony, however, the views from the balcony over St Julian's Bay were great. The pool on the roof was also very small and there wasn't a lot of room up there at all.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Hotel Juliani, a 4 star hotel, is Malta's small design boutique hotel enviably located in the heart of Spinola Bay, St Julian's. In fact, you're never more than 25 minutes away from most parts of the island, including the beautiful baroque capital of Valletta. Originally a traditional seafront townhouse, the Juliani has been meticulously converted to provide 47 rooms, an intimate setting and very personalised service to its guests. Today it remains a family-run establishment committed to ensuring you feel at home and well looked after. Each hotel room offers excellent facilities, fresh Mediterranean decor and plenty of space. Many also boast unobstructed sea views, and you will be able to watch the colourful fishing boats bobbing on the water from the comfort of your balcony or the rooftop swimming pool. Meanwhile, as a cosmopolitan commercial and entertainment district, St Julian's surrounds you with many of the best restaurants, bars, conference centres, casinos, health spas and shops that Malta has to offer. ... more less
