So where do I start??
Location is the best ever, overlooking the Spinola bay with amazing sunsets and sunrises, walking distance from nearly everywhere in St. Julians. Just the thing we were looking for.
Excellent rooms, nice colors, spacious, clean as the hotel just opened doors, very comfortable beds, plasma Tvs with dvd players!
Breakfast is reeeeeally good, with fresh orange juice, your perfect coffee, fresh pastries, omelets, kind of dairy products and so on...
As for Zest restaurant I have no words!! Service amazing, quality of food really high, wine list very extensive. We dined there couple of nights and I think that this is the best place to eat in St. Julians even though that it is influenced mainly from Asian cuisine.
But what makes the place so unique is the staff! From the first email until the last smile you get when leaving the place you understand why Juliani Hotel is No.1 on Tripadvisor. Mr. Georgios (the manager) his wife, Ilham, Kenny, Alan, Lito, Christos, Alex, Alfred, Sasha, Luke, Ali is like your big family away from your family!! Always with a big smile on their face, always there to assist you!
It was an amazing experience and THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THAT!!

We chose Juliani as it was a 'boutique' hotel and we could not have made a better choice. It is slap-bang in the centre of St George's Road, overlooking Spinola Bay with bus stops only moments away. And yet, despite its convenience, once inside the hotel you are in a quiet and relaxed environment. Our Standard Room was adequate, having a side sea view. The bathroom was particularly well planned and there seemed to be a place for everything. Everything is spotless and once the window is closed you would not know you were in the centre of town. The lady Receptionists were exceptionally helpful and the Night Porter who was on duty when we departed for our Sicilian Excursion at 5.30am and there again on our late return was outstanding. He offered us tea and from a chance remark about it being our wedding anniversary, organised cakes in our room! The rooftop pool area is small, but perfectly adequate for our needs at this time of year. We will certainly recommend the Juliani to our friends and if we ever return to Malta it will be our hotel of choice.

Room Tip: Possibly rooms towards the back of the hotel are quieter, but the double glazing is probably the mos...

This was my second visit to the Hotel Juliani, discovered the first time thanks to TripAdvisor. The HJ is well deserved of it's high TA rating. A stylish oasis of clam in the centre of bustling St Julian with beautiful design, well-appointed, comfortable/airy rooms and charming/helpful staff.

The hotel is in an amazing locatio - and with a bus stop outside you'll soon be whizzing your way into Selima or Velletta (buses 11, 12 and 13 will get you there in about 15 minutes).

The managment had noticed it was my birthday and there was a chilled bottle of Prosseco and a plate of Petit Four in my room upon arrival - a really nice, personal touch. As kBloke mentions, you do slightly miss the option to make coffee /tea in your room without needing to chase them for a kettle - but the breakfast staff will happily make you a pot of fresh coffee to take up. I'm a coffee drinker, it would be nice to see the addition of a Nespresso machine in the rooms in a hotel of this standard - it's something Radisson Blu have started doing in business suites and is a really welcome touch.

Always a sense of 'home' when returning to the Hotel Juliani and I simply wouldn't bother looking anywhere else in the St Julian area. Well worth trying Bianco's next door if you fancy simple but amazing pizza (they have an extensive other menu and great specials), but the hotel's own Zest resaturant comes highly recommended.

The only cloud on the horizon this trip was a slightly surly reception from the front desk when it came to checking out - which is why I've dropped my service rating from Very Good to Average. Shame one person dropped the ball on an otherwise wonderful stay - do not hestitate to try the Hotel Juliani too.

Room Tip: Always worth investing in a room overlooking Spinola Bay with a balcony to enjoy drinks at sundown...

We have recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Juliani. Our room was very spacious, clean and tidy. The staff are really friendly and the roof pool was fantastic. we has a room where the window opened up to the front of the hotel but didn't have an issue with road noise, our room was a normal room but still had a view of the harbour.

I can only assume that people who mark the Juliani less than 'Very Good' have never stayed in some of the places that we have.

Unfortunately We didn't get chance to go in Zest, but next time we will :)

Room Tip: Book very early to get the best room.

We stayed in an ambassador suite for 11 nights at the end of September. The room was very well appointed and huge; it had a balcony with table and chairs with a splendid view of Spinola bay, the only thing missing were tea making facilities but these were supplied on request (took about a day and you have to ask for resupply of tea/milk etc as this is not carried/serviced by the housemaids).

Having booked directly with the hotel, they arranged collection from the airport on our arrival, and this worked very well. Driver was waiting for us and whisked us to the hotel promptly (the Maltese traffic and driving skills are something else).

I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone, the staff are very pleasant, breakfast is good (normal buffet items served 6.30-10.30) and it is very well situated. Surrounding the hotel there are many, many restaurants; we tried several and didn't have a bad meal anywhere (although service is not as good in some as it should be or what we are used to in the UK - may be a culture/language issue?!) there is even a McD's and Pizzahut for the unadventurous!

Buses (both service and the Hop on/off variety) stop right across the street and can take you almost anywhere; Valletta is approx 45 mins, Sliema approx 25, Chicawwa (for Gozo ferry) approx 60 mins. There are also taxis available locally although these can charge a bit (€25 from Valetta to hotel at night, around €22 hotel to airport). Bus drivers generally seem unhelpful, so you need to have an idea of where you are going and what stop to get off at!

The receptionist made dinner reservations for us and booked taxi's etc. they even gave us a small gift before we left. If we go back to Malta in the future we will stay here if we can.

Room Tip: ambassador suites are great; once the balcony doors are closed there is very little noise

We have just returned from our 4th stay at Hotel Juliani which overlooks Spinola Bay in
St. Julians, Malta. Ideally situated. With the bus stop just over the road and the tour buses also stopping there you can go anywhere on the island. In Valletta you could spend days following the history or looking at all the buildings and churches then relax in Cafe Cordina with a drink and snack. Mdina the silent city with plenty to see and do, then try the excellent Fontanella Tea
Gardens situated on the bastions from where you can see half the island.
From the hotel you can see numerous restaurants that suit all tastes and pockets and not forgeting Zest in the hotel.
The hotel is just as good as the first time we stayed there,we can't fault anything about the hotel
or the staff. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly
cleaned every day and towels and toiletries changed every day. All the staff are very friendly and the most helpful people we've met, they are very professional in their work right across the board.
Cafe Juliani provides a buffet style breakfast that caters for everyone, with excellent food and service, superb.
Go to the Avenue for our evening meal then on to the casino at Dragonara for an hour or two,
from there to finish the night/morning off at The Beggars Inn Pub with drinks with big Alan.
Back to the hotel were we are greeted good morning from our friendly Alfred then off to bed ready to start all over again.
Everyone praise the staff so we thought we would put some photos of them so you can put names to faces. We hope they forgive any mis-spelling of their names, also we haven't any
photos of the morning chef or the handyman and promise to get them on our next stay there.
Hope you enjoy.

Hotel Juliani, a 4 star hotel, is Malta's small design boutique hotel enviably located in the heart of Spinola Bay, St Julian's.
