Majestically situated on the headland. Didn't pay for sea view, but got one anyway, hard to imagine many rooms without some degree of sea view. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Very grand entrance. Room spacious & immaculately clean. Everything works & not hit with any extra charges snook in on departure! Bus stop close by though buses not that frequent (out of season - December) Very quiet area

I'm a bit disappointed in this hotel, as it was portrayed as a 5 star hotel, and it definitely is not. Its average. I get the sense that the concierge gets a kickback from certain restaurants, as they only recommended restaurants that were absolutely disgusting. I had nothing but horrible meals until I gave up on recommendations and branched out on my own. The white taxis that the hotel arranges are a rip off and charge way more than the more reliable ecabs, as I learned the hard way. Call or text ecabs and don't rely on any white cabs. The Hop on Hop off bus that the hotel arranges offers the worst service, did not show up at time in their timetables and we would had to wait an hour and a half for a bus in Mdina. The hotel would not give us the money we paid them for the bus back (you pay half to the bus driver and half to the hotel). I just don't trust this hotel, as it is clear they are working with providers that take advantage of tourists and are getting something for it. They should be protecting their guests, not setting them up with the worst of the worst in malta.

The rooms are decent, the bathroom could be much nicer. The room service is unimpressive and they could provide a proper breakfast (give me scrambled eggs and a latte), but thats probably being a little picky.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay.

I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with the Restaurants recommended by the Concierge, the taxi fares, the Hop on Hop Off Bus and the quality of the Room Service.

Please accept my sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations. This is not our usual standard.

I have discussed these issues with the Head Concierge and the Room Service Manager for them to take the necessary corrective action so as to avoid such incidents in the future.

It is a pity that you did not try our award winning fine dining restaurant The Grill 3301, or our very popular Henry J Bean’s Bar and Grill as you surely would not have been disappointed.

On a positive note, I am happy that you liked our rooms.

We value your business very much and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay. I sincerely hope that you will give us the chance in the future to prove that we can do better than your experience suggests.

Yours truly

This is a lovely, friendly hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble which was surprising given the size of the hotel. It's not the most modern hotel I've stayed in but is very clean comfortable with a touch of luxury.

We rarely stay at 5 star hotels, and we really enjoyed our stay here. It was the wonderful staff that made all the difference so other minor niggles ( sockets not secure on wall! - rm122) inconsequential. The room and bathroom was nice and spacious . Love the dressing gowns and slippers etc. We felt pampered and are sad that we couldn't stay long enough to make the most of all the hotels facilities ( we like to get out and explore). The concierge service was fantastic - giving advice and help without pushing us into organised trips or taxis. The umbrella was useful! Special mention should go to lovely Alex and intern Max who made us feel very welcome. The buffet breakfast has everything you want and more.
The courtesy bus is a good idea as it makes your trip into Valetta a lot quicker, but for 2.60 euros you can get the bus from outside the hotel into Valetta or change in st Juliens to get the bus to the Gozo ferry ( 45min). Bus travel in Malta is very good - just allow enough time.i found my phones gps was useful for gaging which stop to jump off. Valetta is great. We walked into Paceville - 5min and was surprised by the buzzing bars there ( we met an international crowd),and through this area you reach St Juliens (15min walk away). There are some good restaurants around if you do a little research. We also enjoyed visiting Henry J Beans under the hotel. A nice 'local' where happy hour provides cocktail heaven!
One complaint we did have ( and other guests we talked to found the same) was that the balcony light did not have an 'off' switch. We were told the lights( harsh overhead things) would go off at midnight but on the last two nights this did not happen. It is nice to enjoy the night view, and have the window open and the light was very disturbing. It would be good if the management took this on board and rectified this in the next refit. B
But we would love to come and stay again if ever we revisit malta, and will certainly look out for the corinthia brand in other cities.

Many thanks for your positive feedback regarding your recent stay at the Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay.

I am very happy to read that you enjoyed your room and its amenities, the service of our Concierge, especially Alex and Max, who I will thank personally, our Courtesy Bus Service and the Happy Hour at Henry J Bean’s, where you had the opportunity to try out some of our heavenly cocktails.

I have spoken to our Chief Engineer, who will ensure that the balcony lights, which are on a timer, are scheduled to go off earlier. I apologise for the inconvenience that this caused you.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Malta and to our other Corinthia Hotels.

In March we had 3 nights and decided to re-visit off-season for 10 nights. A longer stay enhanced our very good earlier impressions of the hotel. I will not repeat the favourable comments by others. However I will make others. We booked a taxi from MIA through the hotel (21 Euros) and it is a great start to a holiday to see a driver holding a card with your name on it at Arrivals and then being whisked away and entering the hotel 15 minutes later. We had a beautiful room with balcony overlooking the outside pools and St George's Bay plus a surprise Anniversary cake. As it was 8.30 pm we then opted for the Buffet Dinner which if booked via Reception is 25 Euros pp. The following day was a Sunday so we had the Buffet Breakfast (12.50 pp). To visit family in Naxxar we were delighted to find that the bus stop close by had an hourly service there (No 205). For St Julians, Sliema or Valletta the hotel runs a courtesy bus which can be booked in advance. If walking then Paceville for nightlife is 7 minutes and St Julians 10 minutes. If a RC mass is wanted there is one in English next to the Millenium Chapel, Paceville at 11.30am on a Sunday. We had free wi-fi in the room and the lobby and thoroughly recommend the spa facilities. We were delighted to be invited to the lighting of the 20 foot Christmas tree ceremony in the lobby on the Monday evening and the hotel kindly provided plentiful canapés and drinks. One of our lasting impressions will be the helpfulness of all staff in the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and we particularly thank Carole, Alex and Charles for their exceptional assistance in the lobby area. Already looking forward to our next visit sometime in 2014!

Having read some of the reviews I personally think "picky for picking sake". We were four ladies on a weeks break in Malta. Firstly, the staff from front of house to house keeping and a dedicated chef who would make a waffle or omelette could not do enough to make our stay as pleasant as they could do. The breakfast was outstanding, ranging from a continental with meats, cheeses, breads, fresh fruits, yogurts much too much to mention, also provided was a full English - which was excellent, with English style bacon and sausages - so good, the entire production was faultless!!!! There is also a shuttle bus, the local bus is a five minute walk, that is frequent and cheap, buy a weeks travel pass for 12 euro,s. The evening reception given by the management was an opportunity to pass judgement on the hotel, I didn't hear any complaints, and a hotel manager taking an interest after the working day, that has to be a first!!! Well done Nigel, you have four fans here, we will be back, keep doing what your doing - Well done all!!!!
