Location is very good, rooms are spacious, swimming pool is nice, I didn't like the quality of breakfast but on the whole it's a good value for money!!! They ridiculously ask 50 euro deposit to refund upon check out!

I find it difficult to say anything positive about our stay here....broken shower, dirty bathroom, curtains hanging off only one door working to get onto the patio. Manager was unhelpful when issues raised...and was offered extra bleach to deal with the dirty toilet....very disappointing stay and would not return.

Stayed: September 2017

Arrived on 11/10/17 for a week All Inclusive and got a quiet room (541) as requested by email before we left home.

At first sight the reception area looked OK so we thought the bad reviews were unwarranted. How very wrong we were!

Our room had black mould on the dividing wall between the bedroom and the bathroom with plaster just starting to flake off. There was a decent sized TV on the wall but you had to pay to watch it - how stuck in the 1990's are they? Then came the bathroom along with its numerous free gifts - cockroaches and ants. These were mentioned to the reception staff on several occasions with the promise to spray the room. This was not done while we were there.

Our first meal was the evening offering. This set the standard for the rest of the week - very, very poor to say the least. Chewy beef, insipid and barely warm soup, raw vegetables, tasteless tomatoes, red cabbage to name a few. Indeed the list would be endless if we mentioned everything that was wrong with the food. To top off breakfast which was the same every day, they served chips with it - really?? One morning we couldn't even get a hot or cold drink as the water had been switched off for some reason.

The pool bar served all inclusive guests with plastic cups of approximately of one third of a pint for beer. For paying guests they could buy a pint, again in plastic cups. This is understandable as it is a pool bar and they don't want glass around. In our opinion the all inclusive guests should have got bigger measures, at least half a pint at a time. The cups they used for spirits were even smaller so the measure of spirit was extremely small, bearing in mind that they put ice in first. Only two drinks were allowed per person at a time so you were constantly up and down to the bar.

Now for the out of order: this was our standing joke because it seemed that everything was out of order at some point or other in the week. One of the lifts was out of order for all of our stay, the pool table was out of order one day, the scales in reception for checking weight of baggage was out of order for the whole time we were there and, as mentioned above, the hot and cold drinks were out of order one morning.

Even the alarm call to get us up for our early flight was late, just as well we'd been disturbed by some guests coming in at 3.30 absolutely bladdered and making so much noise I'm surprised the whole hotel wasn't awake. Don't have any nookie as that too can be heard all down the corridors! As for noise, there are building works taking place very nearby and the jack hammering is constant but mercifully they don't work at the weekends.

All in all it was a very bad experience that we will never repeat. No more budget holidays as we understand they are just that, budget, but there are limits. We did speak to the duty manager on our last night who explained that the hotel had been taken over and renovations were planned for sometime soon. He suggested perhaps we went back next year to check it out - we don't think so. in the words of the Eagles song Hotel California "You can check out any time, but you can never leave". One week in the Hammer House of Horrors was sufficient for us thank you very much.

Room Tip: Don't go to this awful hotel

As a cheap budget hotel what else what you expect? The maid came every day and replaced our towels and bedding. We were on a party holiday so the location was perfect. The room is not terrible and i didn't once see any bugs seemingly like every other review.
You pay a deposit when you arrive but it is refunded on the last day with no issues. When i return on a family holiday this wont be the hotel i would use but when i return with friends its great value for money.

we stayed last week 15/10/17.although the hotel is a tad dated ,our room overlooking the pool was scrupiously clean the bed linen looked new the towels also brilliant white, staff rather blunt as is there way but then customers treat them like trash no pleaseor thankyou most the time ours were as helpful as they could be and we got the result we needed .there wasnt any evening entertainment as such (october)which was abit of a shame ,the pools were well maintained but chilly ,bar area also clean loos could have been better but were perfectly adequate. The resteraunt well the staff were on hand to take away dirty crockery efficently and wipe down ,there was always something that was edible (chips at brekkie and lunch but not for dinner)it just didnt really light your eyes up ,although to be fair some of it pork in mustard sauce was very tasty also bbef stew roasted potatoes scrummy ,our daughter was harder to feed nothing really for kids although some requested chicken nuggets I dont know if that had to be paid extra for (we were all inc).Outside the hotel the resort was definately night clubbing area boom boom at the weekend ,we were fortunate being poolside I could see people being titsed off on the other side for sure and the staff getting aggro over that ,however the shops were reasonably good for an evening stroll the footpaths are hazourdous not maintained at all and some very slippery ,cars everywhere mad drivers but then thats Malta also lots of litter on the streets broken glass and fag butts on the little sea area which was sad to see however there was a man made sandy beach down the hill which looked clean and practicle for little ones
.i would stay again we had a relaxing time no squabbles for sunbeds there were loads ,weather fantastic ,mosquitos and flies not so !
