“its not as bad as has been slated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

we where here the 1st week of March - and it is very noticeable that there has been new management team in as all the staff are trying their very best - however as mention by previous review the holtel could do with updating - but this is slowly being addressed - We were in self catering apartment which was a good size however we where unable to do any cooking as there was a lack of utensils - bowls - cutlery etc not even a kettle - I have made by comments known to the hotel as invited so hopeful this to will be address. The rooms where cleaned 6 days out of 7 days . As far as noise issue - this is not so bad - in fact the only noise we heard was from people walking throught the hall due to tile floors and a bit of outside noise which was the bar across the way when they changed a barrell ( the black bull) and for the price it was an absolute bargin - people very friendly scenery lovely

me and my wife arrived about 7.30pm check in was very quick, so we dumped our suitcases on t
the bed and headed to the restuarant, had dinner which was quite good , limited choice but good ,
the restaraunt staff were very good, went to the bar that evening the service was top notch , measures for shorts were strong , beer was very tasty so no complaints there,
however the toilets in the mens were ok , but my wife would not use the womens, so meant she had to go back to the room ,2nd day there was brill pool bar was good met some good people, marcel, albert ,juan, great barman , find time to speak to them full of humour , entertainment not alot going on but give credit where credit is due , leigh was great with us , with the resources he had, and he was really good with the few children that were there, interacting with them and making them laugh.
while we were there improvements were being made , it will take time we could see that ourselves but a big thank you to all staff and there efforts,
my ratings are based on what i paid for the hotel and expected , my only complaint was the bacon full of fat other then that no complaints

Room Tip: poolside rooms you dont hear so much noise from the clubs

2 of my friends and I stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay. The rooms were spacious and the outdoor pool facility was good. However we felt that this hotel was not very safe. For example the room of the door was not the best and could easily be opened when locked. The rooms and the bathroom where not so clean as well. However the price is very cheap and if you're only looking to sleep there I guess its not a bad option. However still wouldn't recommend it.

We have just come back from a weeks stay at the hotel 10th to 17th March 2013. Do not be put off by the silly reviews some have made. Yes the hotel is in a very lively part of Malta, and if you we're there in the peak season I could understand the noise would be an issue. For a quieter room get one facing the pool on a high floor. The bar staff were very nice. Our room was clean with clean towels, and it was cleaned, not everyday but we didn't expect it to be.
The dinning room was clean. You can always find something to eat, if something has run out, just ask we did and they brought out more. Some people are just born complainers, it's not a 5 star, but you are not going to pay 5 star prices , you get what you pay for and it is good value.

Four of us ( two couples ) have just returned 17/03/2013 and can not honestly see what others have a problem with !!! The room was very clean, sheets towels etc, maid came every other day, if you read the notice and put your towels in the bath they were changed, you could always get extras from reception.
Agree if the noise was to bother you make sure you ask for pool view, we did.The food we found we could not fault, lots and lots of choice and no it was not all swimming in the same fat ! there was a very nice soup everyday, lots of salad, 4 choices of main plus then two pasta/veg dishes, if it was getting to the end of a tray may be not as hot but if you looked properly there was a microwave so you could heat it up a little more. The fatty bacon comment below you get that everywhere abroard, was the only thing I did not eat.The tables were very clean they had extra paper cloths on top of the plastic ones and were immediatly changed and re laid when vacant, staff cleared dirty plates and crockery immediatly, never ones saw a dirty table. Staff friendly, drinks fine could write lots more but running out of my 200 characters! Only dissapointment was indoor pool, cold and in the dungeons !!
PS also won 80 euros at bingo !!!

Room Tip: As above ask for a pool view, we also prefer high floor

Dear Silvia,

Thank you for your request.

The restaurants are open three times daily, plus supper, and you also have the pool bar, and lounge bar where all local liquors, Beers and soft drinks are available in the AI package.

Food is prepared freshly on a daily basis, the menu rotative. Our rooms whilst basic, are large and clean.

If you are worried about noise, I would suggest you book a sea/pool view room, which is away from the nightlife.

Do not hesitate to contact us directly if you wish more infromation.

Kind regards,

St.Georges Park & La Vallette

We have only just returned 16/3/13. To start with the local area is very lively plenty of bars clubs and cafes. The hotel has as I was told recently changed owners we were here for 1week and noticed little bits of improvements . The food is basic with limited choice but always something to eat (maybe you could change your bacon suppliers though guys) the bread and rolls were always fresh. The bar snacks were very basic. The staff reception bar and entertainment were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble (especially the entertainer Leigh who is really friendly and will go the extra mile to help even if it's not his department) the rooms were basic but clean (maybe a few more English channels on tv but hey you are in a foreign country) the pool and surrounding area was always clean plenty of loungers and tables and chairs to sit. The beers cold alcohols strong (and plenty of it) walk to the corner at the black bull bar get a day ticket for the hop on hop off bus from the english guy whos always there and go explore this lovely island and stop moaning give it a try it will only get better.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room ask for pool facing room as the others do get noise from surrounding bars
