“Cant Complain For The Price You Pay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

I totally agree with comments people have said that you get what you pay for. You cannot expect 5* luxury if you dont pay the money. I went for a long weekend with my boyfriend and yes our first thought on the place were very negative as it was a little dated and run down but once we had our little complaint at the reception about the fan looking as though it was going to fall down we headed down to the pool side bar. The pool side bar is lovely to sit around during the day and making the most out of your all inclusive. when we went back to our room reception had sent someone straight up to fix our fan which i was very impressed with. The staff were very helpful. The only downful for me is the fact the hotel is a non smoking hotel you cant even smoke on balconys without getting a 150 euro fine which i think is ridiculous as you have to keep going down to smoking areas which are at pool bar or in the evening outside the front of the hotel and when your on floor 6 its a mission and a half. The reveiws on the food a so harsh on here yes its not amazing but what do expect seriously dont go all inclusive here if you want to be eating like a king every night. The soup is always very good and there is a choice however give the hotel another couple of months to a year and i think the standard will be alot better. overall me and my boyfriend had a enjoyable stay and met some very lovely people the hotel was ok and nightlife was very good would recommened for groups of young people or for couples looking for a cheap non classy holiday

Room Tip: try to request a room away from level3 as thats the floor restruant is on and you will be rudley awo...

Dear Guests,

Thank you very much for your comments. These will be used to help us improve standards!
I am happy that you found value for money, and that your needs were met quickly by reception.

I am looking at the smoking situation as this seems to be a common complaint.

Kind regards,

The Manager

Arrived at this resort on 21st Jan & despite paying a very cheap price for 11 nights all inclusive we were very dubious about where we were going and what to expect having read some truly terrible reviews....(& we did consider changing our booking and going somewhere else)....Well I honestly don't know what we were worried about, we checked in quickly at 11.30 am & were given a big room on the top floor overlooking the pools / bay/ sea ! Lovely. Granted the beds were a little hard but soon got used that. Also a bit of noise in the corridors from young people arriving back in the early hours , but hey you're in the clubbing area so get over it !! We seriously don't know what people have to complain about considering what they've paid for this holiday....we spoke to a lot of people with the same view as us but you always get the moaners that somehow seem to expect a 4/5 star holiday on a ridiculous budget ! In the restaurant there was always plenty of choice & we could always find something nice to eat & occasionally we ventured out and ate in one of the many places just steps away ( I loved Hugo's)There is a big management presence at the moment (we had a pleasant chat with some of them) & they seem to be constantly trying to improve things. Microwaves were put in the dining room while we were there to warm food that wasn't always piping hot. They were also spending a lot of time cleaning the swimming pools ready for the upcoming season and generally sprucing up the place. The staff in the restaurants & bars were all lovely & very polite & friendly Hello to Albert & his brother who works in the pool bar who have worked there 27 & 30 years respectively I believe. All in all a lovely holiday at a bargain price. Very much a case of getting what you pay for....not expecting more & being pleasantly surprised after the flack this place has taken recently.

the hotel was clean and staff were really friendly, The all inclusive package was great value for money, i was surprised at the quality of food which was good after reading some of the reviews, there was plenty of choice. People shouldn't expect steak dinners for low cost prices, fish chicken and pork was on the menu most nights, salads, soups, desserts. The nightlife is close to the hotel.

Stayed here over the New Year just gone and got exactly what we paid for. Food was good, plenty of variety - staff very pleasant - All Inclusive what it said in the brochure. Rooms clean and basic but acceptable, met our needs sufficiently.

Very busy, especially with young Italians but that can be expected due to the proximity of Malta to Italy. They were talked about by all the moaners, I've never heard so many moaners in the one place. Yes this hotel is a large complex, offering All Inclusive drinks and will undoubtedly attract a younger lively clientele (and i'm not that young myself). This resort is very busy, with the 'mental' street just round the corner hence if you want a quiet holiday go somewhere else on the island and prevent the need to moan.

If you want 5* accommodation - pay 5* prices, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!

I'm sure we'll be back.

The hotel is ok and the staff are very helpful, the dining room staff are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble for them, The food was not great, but what can you expect for the price you pay to saty here. The rooms where attended to every other day, which we found better than everyday. There are improvements that can still be made and i'm sure the new management wil make this happen. great value if your'e on a low budget

Room Tip: choose a room with a pool view, as this is the quieter side of the hotel

Dear Guests,

Thank you very much for your comments. Whilst it is true we provide services in St.Georges Park, it is not 300 yards away,as there is access from La vallette pool, nearly directly to the restaurant.

We are meeting constantly with our caterers to improve both variety and quality.

Cleaning is 4 times weekly.

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy these elements, and we will use your comments constructively.

Thank you and kind regards,

The Manager

I was not expecting the Ritz but was expecting better than we got, first i will say as we where ther in january it was fairly quiet, the biggest let down was poor heating in the rooms, room service when they felt like it but the biggest letdown was the meals i have not seen such unappertising meals in a 1 star hotel let alone a 3 star as what we got nothing to tell you what you where eating and no variety from day to day ie chicken drumsticks, fish and stew, soup was tasteless and the colour left a lot to the imagination,it can be safely said i would need to be paid to stop there again

Room Tip: would all rooms the same

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your comments which will be treated accordingly, and used ti improve services.

Food is prepared daily on a rotative menu basis, but we are meeting daily with our caterers to improve both quality and variety.

Cleaning is 4 times daily, and there are heaters/ac units in every room. t has been unusually cold here this past month, and very humid, so we can imagine you may have been cold. Extra blankets are always available.

It is unfortunate that you did not seem to enjoy your experience with us.

Kind regards,

The Manager.
