just returned from my 5th trip to the Westin Dragonara in Malta,
You can not speak highly enough about this Hotel, From the location , staff, amenities all wonderful . we were upgraded once again and our Apartment was fantastic with large outdoor area with plunge pools. we also had the use of the executive lounge on the 8th floor which offers private dining for breakfast and complimentary drinks and nibbles between six and eight. 11 out of 10 once again.

Room Tip: we upgraded to a suite - wonderful

Just returned from a week @ the Westin, what a wonderful staff this place has, everyone is so keen to help your stay pleasurable, the two guys on the reception cannot do enough for you, and the breakfast is the very best I have ever seen. The rooms are very clean and spacious , mini bar, tea/coffee, ironing board and iron, even dressing gowns, flat screen tv, limited inputs, VGA and HDMI, only. The only thing I can gripe about is wi-fi is available all over the hotel but only free in the lobby bar and reception area and then only for 1 hour, 7€ per hour chargeable , but cheaper the more you buy. I would have thought a hotel charging these prices would give 1 hr per customer per day free wherever you want it. Take note Starwood. Also we had to pay €350 up front for extras, use of mini bar ,food ect.Having said all that we will be back next year.

Dear tworiversuk,

Happily we read that you had a wonderful stay on the Maltese Islands and the Westin Dragonara Resort.

The buffet breakfast at the Terrace Restaurant indeed offers a wonderful selection of dishes, including a SuperFoods corner for healthy eating whilst travelling.

We thank you for your feedback and for your time to share with us your comments following your experience at the resort. We look forward to another opportunity to welcome you back to the resort in the future

Kind regards

My husband and myself stayed here from 17-26 Sep13. On arrival have to say reception staff were very helpful. Our room was a bit of an anticlimax but we were soon moved to a much better room with a sea view!! Room was spotless. TV Chanel's were good. Thought blockbuster movie prices were expensive at €12 a pop. Room service was very prompt and in room breakfast was a dream although cold on a couple of occasions. Great choice from Quadro and Palio's restaurant. Food was 5 star but service can be a bit slow at times. Have to say Thomas is an absolute Gem in Quadro. So polite and efficient. Yanika was also a delight. And the tall elderly man with the glasses was such a gent (sorry I can't recall your name). I just thought it lacked a bit of entertainment at night time when you wanted to relax to a bit of music etc. just some live music or singing to entertain guests would've been enjoyable. We stayed in the executive rooms which had added perks of the executive lounge for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks and apéritifs. Such a treat. And John was such an attentive host to everyone there. The piano lounge was such a comfortable place to relax and either have a drink or something to eat or both. The staff there were great. Especially Cais (I'm sure that's his name). And the pool and beach were to die for. We are hopefully going to be doing a return visit next year (if we get the same value deal we had) so we'll be counting down the days till then. We would definitely recommend this hotel without a doubt. In my opinion it is the best hotel we have stayed in in malta so far and there have been many. Please keep up the good work and always strive to improve rather than let things slide insuring your survival in a very competitive industry. All the best, Sarah from Ireland. X

This is a great hotel. We have just returned from first week in Malta thanks in part to £100 rtn flights with Ryanair. Chose an Executive floor room which was not cheap, but worth the extra. Room huge for a Mediterranean hotel and found the Heavenly beds/linens/towels all excellent. Liked the fact the toiletries and water were always well replenished; pet hate when hotel scrimp on the basics. Loved the access to the Lounge and great nibbles/drinks between 6-8. Inspite of this, we always went to main restaurant for breakfast and loved the choice esp the omelettes and sitting outside on terrace. Found Charles very good here. Liked the gym and indoor facilities too. Other highlights were the staff. Everybody was superb at their job; special thanks to team for recognising our 20th anniversary at check in and thanks to Angela Attard (named after a town no less) for being lovely. Concierge team also good and helped with directions to the hypogeum.

Want to give a balanced view so some feedback to consider. I loved the fact there was meant to be a family designated pool with adults round the main pool. But this did not seem to be well communicated or policed and so I think the hotel needs to make a decision if they really want to have this or not. Personally I think it is a good idea since I don't have kids, but then think they need to spend some more money/effort on upgrading all areas at the Reef club pool since it looks a bit dilapidated and I think it should have more kid friendly attractions over there. Overall, I think the outdoor areas don't quite live up to the quality of the indoor areas. Pools and surrounding areas are not quite up to scratch and I would also expected more attentive service round the pool at a good quality hotel. On another matter, whilst I think the hotel balances the need of leisure and business and conference business quite well, at times it was chaotic in public areas, in reception in lifts etc so wonder if better organisation/segregation of groups would help. In any case, this is a great hotel and we had a great stay. Thanks to all the team.
