Description: Caffe` Portomaso is the oldest outlet of the Marina Restaurants fleet and has been operating successfully since 2003. It is situated below the Portomaso Business Tower (adjacent to the Hilton Hotel) and is a great place for shoppers, sightseers and the business community for a quick drink or a bite to eat. Caffe` Portomaso, like all the other outlets, has both inside and outside seating. The outside terrace is set up with outdoor wicker furniture where canopies are opened in order to shelter guests from the strong rays of the sun in the summer months and the rain in the winter months. Caffe` Portomaso has got an inside seating capacity of approximately eighty covers and an outside seating capacity of forty covers. The inside is designed to give a warm and 'homey' feeling, where many choose to make the coffee shop their spot to have a cup of coffee and read the newspaper in the morning.

“Lovely place to sit and have coffee”

Lovely coffee (and tea!), and amazing cakes and pastries. Good service and reasonable prices. The place to visit after a wander around the marina to daydream about owning one of those boats ...!

“Best coffee on the island”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

This cafe is really worth seeking out. It has a long display bar showing all sorts of pastries, cakes, cheesecakes to sandwiches and savouries. The cafe is usually busy with locals and tourists and there are plenty of staff, so orders are quickly taken and served. The coffee is really first class. We found it a pleasant walk from our hotel in Sliema, the tall blue Hilton building being a landmark and making it easy to find. It is close to the marina, discount clothes outlets and supermarkets. Perfect!

“Cafe Society”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

This cafe is conveniently placed just near the Hilton Hotel across from the Marina. It's been a favourite of ours for many years. Plenty of seating inside and out and tvs to catch up with sport etc. The best thing about it is that you can have as little or as much as you want any time of day whether it's a pizza or one of the daily specials with all the trimmings, or just a milkshake. They never rush you and people go there to eat, relax, meet friends, have a quick drink before going on somewhere or a nightcap on the way back. The outside seating is good for watching the world go by (mostly on tourist buses these days).

Check out the cakes - great selection and a white chocolate cheesecake to die for. Service is friendly and good but you have to be patient when they are packed as they often are. Prices are very reasonable. This was the place we visited most on our holiday - wish we had something like this in England.

“Nice for a coffee and cake”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

We went in Caffe Portomaso twice for a coffee and a snack and it was really nice. A good choice of teas and coffees and the rolls were really filling. We didn't try any of the meals but those that we saw being served to others looked very tempting and again the portions seemed generous. Most other restaurants in Portomaso seemed to be meals orientated so it was nice to have cafe where we could just get a snack. There was plenty of seating but tables could have perhaps been cleared a bit quicker than they were. But other than that it was fine.
