Description: Caffe` Portomaso is the oldest outlet of the Marina Restaurants fleet and has been operating successfully since 2003. It is situated below the Portomaso Business Tower (adjacent to the Hilton Hotel) and is a great place for shoppers, sightseers and the business community for a quick drink or a bite to eat. Caffe` Portomaso, like all the other outlets, has both inside and outside seating. The outside terrace is set up with outdoor wicker furniture where canopies are opened in order to shelter guests from the strong rays of the sun in the summer months and the rain in the winter months. Caffe` Portomaso has got an inside seating capacity of approximately eighty covers and an outside seating capacity of forty covers. The inside is designed to give a warm and 'homey' feeling, where many choose to make the coffee shop their spot to have a cup of coffee and read the newspaper in the morning.

I absolutely love this place.... any time of the day, any day of the week.
The service is excellent... and their staff are really good at their job. They make you feel very welcome.
The food is soooo good.... i love their baguettes and pizzas.... always fresh and good.
The cakes and ice creams are to die for.... :) You'll be too tempted to say no! So make sure you leave space for dessert... it's worth it!

Had lunch a couple of times - just a toasted sandwich but was absolutely fine and good value for money. Were staying in the Hilton and, most nights, on way back to the hotel stopped in for a drink. Service was always really good - and free wi-fi, which was a plus! Would recommend for a drink and a snack.

Caffe Portomaso is a nice and stylish café for a quick bite and a quick (or not so quick) drink. Apart from cakes and icre cream it serves various types of sandwiches, salads, soups and pizza. I opted for a chicken-vegetable ftira (maltese bread) and it was delicious. It was not the standard sliced roll with some filling but instead was a dough which was filled, topped with a thin crust and then baked. I haven't had a better ftira on the whole island. The coffee was delicious too. It seems to be quite popular with local businessmen who were enjoying drinks after their meetings.

Just had a late lunch there. Menu looks enticing and there's a good selection of light fare. Hot mint tea was good. But don't order the Beef & Mushroom Pie. The pastry crust was burned and the filling was so spicy hot it was barely edible. I was starving so I picked over the filling and some of the beef and mushroom chunks but left most of the filling and all of the pastry crust. My tongue was on fire and all the spices cleared out my sinuses. It was awful. Hubby ordered the Ham and Cheese Foccacia and it was much better with melted cheese and generous slices of parma ham.

This place is within walking distance of the Hilton and on nice sunny days you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. The atmosphere inside is like a cafeteria so try to avoid eating in if possible.

Service was friendly and efficient. The place was busy during the lunch hours so the wait staff was busy but our orders arrived quickly. I would come here again for a cup of tea or coffee and maybe try their sandwiches. Seems safer than the beef pie.
