Description: For over a decade, Zest has pioneered the Asian fusion culinary concept in Malta. Boasting some of the best Asian and Continental cuisine on our islands, including exquisite sushi made with fresh, local seafood, Zest's menu will take you on an exciting culinary journey. Every plate perfectly balances Eastern and Western influences-even dessert! Get swept off your feet with delectable dishes from Balinese curries, Indonesian noodles, Japanese teppanyaki and Cantonese dim sums to French lamb sous vide with mango salsa and crème brulées of mandarin and fresh chili. At Zest, no attention to detail is spared including the décor and design that elevates one's dining experience from ordinary to extraordinary. Original architectural details and attractive features, including an open wine cellar and a live-cooking sushi bar, are sure to leave a lasting impression. Zest also enjoys the added bonus of an open-air terrace overlooking romantic Spinola Bay, for which reservations are highly advised-only 14 seats are available in this exclusive location. Year after year, Zest has been voted one of the most popular "best ambience" and "best service" restaurants in Malta by its discerning guests. On these award-winning foundations, Zest has also built a reputation for professional, creative and impeccable outside catering. Whether you are throwing a dinner party for friends at home, a lavish wedding reception for hundreds of guests or an inspiring corporate event, our blend of experience, planning and bespoke attention to detail ensures a successful occasion every time. All this begs the question... Whether for an elegant evening out in the heart of Spinola, or a memorable private event, why not add a little Zest?

“Would definitely go back”

We stayed at Hotel Juliani, and since we arrived late in the day we decided to use the 10€ voucher they gave us for Zest. The food was brilliant and the service was impeccable. We were so happy with our experience that we decided to go back the evening after and was just as happy then.

The menu is a very interesting mix of foods from both Europe and Asia. We both had the three course menus and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the presentation was delicate and professional.

If you are a student the prices might seem a bit steep, but to get a three course meal for 30-40€ is in my opinion a bargain. Especially compared to some other countries.

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

We arrived on a Saturday night with no reservation so couldn't get seating on the balcony which was disappointing but soon got over that once the food was served. The prawn curry was to die for. All four of us had different choices and all equally happy with our meals. Wine choices good and desserts lovely. Would eat here again without a doubt.

“Service very bad food ok”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

Made a reservation a day before for a table outside.. We came at Zest and there was no table outside. They made it our problem... The should handle such a situation differently!!! Wrong wine. And the waitresses don't smile at any time. There are really much better places to find in Malta!!! Don't go there...

“Excellent service & atmosphere, a bit pricey, interesting mix of food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2014

This restaurant is on the first floor of the Juliani Hotel and as we were staying there, we thought it rude not to try it. We went on one of their buffet nights, so can't really speak about their a la carte.
We booked with the concierge that morning - it does seem to get quite busy so booking is a necessity.
Once in the restaurant we were greeted immediately and shown to our table, presented with a wine list and told what was what with the buffet. The staff and service we received was faultless. The wine choice was quite extensive and not too expensive.
The buffet was an interesting mixture of Chinese Japanese and Indian and a couple of European dishes thrown in for good measure. The sushi wasn't the greatest, but overall the food was delicious. My wife thought the main course choice was limited for her as it was mostly spicey dishes which she's not fond of. The choice of desserts was excellent - lots of little portions of cakes and fruit salad.
Overall, a very pleasant evening.

“Disappointing Service, But Very Good Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2014

It's rare that the service in such a nice restaurant can be so neglectful, but we we consistently abandonded at nearly every stage of our meal, plus our waiter forgot to bring my wife's starter selection. Still, I want to like this place more than we did, but in the end we had a hard time overlooking the service that was spotty at best and inexcuably neglectful throughout the meal. Delicious steamed sea bass and a wonderful steamed dim sum dish, too. Very nice wine list with some good, and very affordable, Maltese selections, too. Probably won't return, though, but maybe we just hit them on a challenging night since there was a large group being served in the back and maybe the service was just too stretched that day?
