“Old people!!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

Feel slightly guilty about being one star short because the food is great... However... We visited around 9 o'clock having booked and were quickly shown to our table, the restaurant is small with a lovely view through big windows of the sea. Being so small it is very very loud! Our visit was like a scene from cocoon with tables of oaps the majority. One table who had prime spot at the window consisted of 5 elderly women and 2 men, their behaviour was unacceptable and took something away from a much anticipated meal.
They were drunk and loud and swore, announcing to everyone they were going for a wee and eventually ended up arguing and finger pointing at each other, these were fancy dressed, posh old people who couldn't handle wine and carried on like no one else was there. At another table were 4 elderly gents who also forgot where they were although they apologised for their volume to us when leaving. The food is great with big steaks a speciality and chocolate desert amazing.
The service was very polite and efficient but staff apologising after the event just made us feel a quiet word to tone the volume down might of been appropriate, restaurants should have atmosphere and people enjoy themselves but come on! we didn't even realise their was music playing until they'd left! Would recommend and hope people get luckier with clientele than we did.

“World Class”

Fantastic views over the marina.
A very friendly modest owner and superb food.
Recommend the spaghetti prawn and then rack of veal.
And a complimentary limoncello.
The owner also offered to make my daughter a small breaded veal steak.
Great wine collection also at good prices.

“Worth Visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

Wigi's has excellent food, reasonable prices, very good service, and an amazing view of St. Julian's Bay. Overall - a fantastic value! When you order meat/fish, they bring out the raw cuts for you to review and select which one you would like. This made it feel like a Michelin-star restaurant. The quality of the food and the great view makes this place worth visiting. The wait staff can be hit or miss. However, we lucked out, getting Wigi himself as our main server. (He was helped by others, but not everyone else was as warm and welcoming.) We celebrated our last night in Malta at Wigi's and really enjoyed the experience. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne and a recommended wine pairing with our main dish, and the final bill at the end of the night was lower than expected. This is no tourist-trap. You will get a genuine Maltese experience at Wigi's. I would definitely return here if/when in Malta again.

“Wonderful family run restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

I went with my sister and she can be a fussy eater, but she was absolutely over the moon with the food and service. The staff are charming, what you ask for you get with style, great quality food, great wines and a beautiful setting. A definite must for a classy evening out on your holiday, also not overpriced, worth every penny and will go back for sure when i return to wonderful Malta!!

“Best restaurant in Malta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

We visited this restaurant in June and it was the best food, wine and service we have experienced in a long time. The outlook and atmosphere were equally as amazing. It is a must-visit when in Malta. 5 stars in all aspects.
