I go to The White Elephant on a regular basis when the sun is shining in W Australia, combining swimming, eating and socialising in one easy move, making a day extra special. The staff are always friendly and the food fresh and tasty, with some memorable dishes. It's also a great place to just go and order a coffee and watch the world go by, or your children playing in the sand. I went to The White Elephant recently and ordered a cooked breakfast, and when I asked for sauce was told that that would be an extra 50 cents. I have eaten here often and have never been asked to pay more for condiments. When I commented on this, I was told that it is the same as ordering a pie from a service station, where sauce is extra. However, this is not a petrol station, and never before have I had to pay for sauce at an eating establishment, until now. This is not a cheap place to eat, and therefore I feel they really would benefit from extending their customer care just a little bit. Overall, this is a popular spot for a cuppa or a meal, but maybe don't expect sauce, or that extra little something.
