Excellent Hotel overlooking the Marina. We had a fab time here and its one of the most memorable holidays I have ever had. We stayed for a number of weeks and it was fantastic. Just a short taxi journey in to Monte Carlo where we ended up most evenings at the Cafe De Paris, Casino etc...

Truly memorable times and a great price for the location.

Room Tip: the higher the room the better the view.

I love Marriott properties! This was an "OK" property. The check-in was good, the agents were above average, the elevators small. The rooms were nice quality and comfortable....except the AC is pretty much non-existent. All three of our rooms were impossible to cool down no matter which direction we pointed the thermostat. We were fortunate that the weather was ok outside so we could open the balcony. The balcony is reasonably sized and looked out onto one of the piers. However they are not very private when it comes to the rooms next door. The restaurant was way below average, and the service was also below average. The front desk recommended an Itialian restaurant Amici something. It was so-so.

Parts of the hotel could need a refurbishment + gym is very small, but other than that I was very pleased with the hotel and in particular the location at the sea front. Will come back if I have the chance.

Great hotel for business trips or for vacation. Rooms are clean and bed comfortable, (very important). Very good location for walking distance to Monaco or for a stroll, (or run) along the Mediterranean on a nice day. Bus stop across the street from the hotel. If you are travelling by car, parking is adjacent to the hotel at a cost of 24.00 Euro per day. You can enjoy the outdoor pool in warmer months. Great home base location for sightseeing trips to Monaco, Eze, Menton, Grasse, Valbonne, Nice, Cannes etc. We stayed in room 710 February 21st to 28th which had a great view of the Mediterranean. The staff is friendly, from the front desk, the restaurant to the maid service.
Special thanks to Anita who was friendly and always very helpful. Will go back any time of year.

My first trip to France and we flew straight to Cote d'Azur airport in Nice. After a 10 hour flight plus the 2 hours flight from Paris, we were naturally exhausted at 10am when we landed. But oddly enough, when they the luggage conveyor belt creaked to a stop less my sister's bag, we were the least bit bothered. We had no plans to arrive in Monaco until after 2pm so we welcomed the delay as the bag was coming on the next flight. After a restorative noisette (my absolute favorite coffee from henceforth) we took the bus to Cap Trois Mille, a larger than large mall not very far from the airport. Did some necessary winter clothing shopping and found some amazing deals as we were petrified at the thought of spending money in Monaco principality, arguably the world's most expensive shopping ground.

Back to the airport, bag retrieved, we opted to take the bus to Monaco as opposed to the train for which we would have had to pay a short taxi ride for into the center of Nice. The bus is also remarkably cheaper and you can book your return for any date. Also, the view into the Principality was worth the experience. For those with deep pockets, there are numerous helicopters choppering in or take a taxi if you don't mind spending 80euros or more. Plus the bus stopped directly at the Marriott Riviera so no need to worry about lugging bags all over the place.

The hotel is right behind and in the shadow of the massive Stade Louise II, home of AS Monaco in Fontvieille, one of the four quarters of the Principality. Not to worry, that's just the entrance and should you wish to peek into the stadium, ask for the higher floors if you are facing the mountain. Our room was on the 6th floor and facing the quintessential Monegasque view of one of the harbors that housed a massive number of boats. From tiny boats to enormous yachts, the view was breathtaking.

The room was small but the space used very well as this is very much so a business hotel and not a luxury property the likes of which you'd expect and I expect that is where some of the negative reviews came from. We had nice sized twin beds, a large mini fridge. Tea and coffee making facilities, business desk, very nice bathroom with a huge tub. It is a wonderful hotel for its location as the bus line ran just up the road and joined up with all the other networks on the efficient transportation line at very many points. For our stay, my sister was attending a conference at the Grimaldi Forum and we were able to get there much more quickly once we understood the system. We used a taxi only twice during our entire stay as it really is quite easy to potter about on the bus only.

There is a very nice outdoor bar area. However, our trip in November meant it was empty most of the time. But there's free wifi and the very helpful staff put out heating lamps so you can enjoy a glass of wine. The pool is tiny and clearly in the summer, due to its proximity to the marina purely for the beautiful people to lounge and be seen.

The breakfast buffet, easily one of the best I've ever experienced. Smoked salmon, fruit platters, delicious coffee, made to order eggs. It was quite enjoyable and substantial enough to take one through the day to dinner. The service can be a bit slow, but place your coffee / tea order while being seated and you don't have to worry about absent staff.

As we were flexible on travel plans, we chose to take the TGV to Paris as opposed to flying which would have been much more pricey on the luggage only. We organized a free shuttle to the train station at Monaco and the pick up was prompt. The concierge offered great options for dining but we ended up winging it most nights as it was always pleasant enough to walk around the city and settle for sidewalk cafes and beajoulais almost anywhere.

Room service is interesting - due to low staff numbers in the winter, don't be alarmed if you have to carry your own tray, which is what we did. But the kitchen had the food ready in a short time and it was always delicious. The staff are a multinational crew from all over Europe and they really are a fountain of knowledge on what to do and where to go on a budget so befriend them.

All in all, a more than capable business hotel in a great location for those not room-bound. Don't stay here if you intend on living in the room. As an avid Formula 1 fan, there was so much to see in addition to the natural sights. You're in Monaco, enjoy it!

Room Tip: Sea view definitely - and travel in the low season to get that option much easier.

A perfectly good business hotel, very courteous staff with decent service and good facilities, but the overwhelming impression is of money, mostly money that you are providing. I feel the prime purpose of my visit is to shell out cash in this place. Don't think of using the pool unless you are beautiful - if you are not giving free advertising then go swim in the sea!

Room Tip: Mountain view means looking into the floodlit football pitch through windows that don't open. S...

A friend who works in the area1 wk out of 6, who stays at this location said we should all (6 of us) stay at this hotel during the Course Du Soleil half marathon event (weekend 2/3/4th Feb 2013).

We arrived early evening Saturday, booked in easy enough. Very friendly staff. Rooms well appointed, clean, tidy with a requested sea view (4th floor). Key card system which operates the electric in the room.

Bar - phewww - very expensive but free nuts!

Staff and room service was available 24 hrs. Naturally, due to it being February, the pools were closed but we were lucky with the weather and used the outside seating area following our run on the Sunday. It was a pleasant 15 min walk from the start / finish line in Monaco port (so many BIG boats), where you will find many great bars. The rest of the town in a little more of a walk BUT the hotel permitted a transfer bus service, booked to order, which was a great way to get deep into the town, then walk back.

TV's had a clear BBC service, and should you have wanted cable connection for any laptop it was there. Free WiFi though. We didn't touch the minibar for fear of the need for a small mortgage!

Breakfast was extensive, freshly cooked (omelets to order), fresh fruit galore, tea coffee etc.

No matter what time we got in there was always a smile from the staff.

The only niggle was that the plug socket in room 414 in the entrance was just hanging free (dangerous if we had used it).

Would most certainly stay there again when I bring the wife.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the sea for the views. Book the transfer bus for free. Avoid the bar (expensive)
