Staff were lovely and very friendly for 7:30 in the morning! We had a lovely meals which consisted of and Olympic, an early starter and a pancake breakfast. This is a bit pricey but its a typical Little Chef. You know before you go into these type of places that they are pricey for what you get. We already knew how much it was going to cost us because they had a menu in the Travelodge rooms attached.

There was not one bit of grease on our plate and the food was cooked to perfection. My daughter loved her pancakes and they were not out of a packet either!

Perfect if you are staying at the Travelodge.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean and tidy. We were tired so decided to go there as it was attached to our Travelodge. Thought they were very pricy for 'extras' and beverages.

We go here for a large breakfast at the weekends. Nice food good service, but the place looks a bit dingy, a good clean and lick of paint needed. Toilets need a good clean out too as a bit whiffy. Prices are a bit expensive for some choices on menu but I think the breakfasts are great. Friendly staff always helpful. Coffee quite expensive

Been here a few times on the way to the peak district and the service is always very efficient, the breakfasts tasty and proper cup of tea! I dont mind the charged prices when its done right! Pleasant staff seem interested and I still get a lolly at the end!

We called in here on the way to a family funeral at Clay Cross.
The advantage was we could plan ahead and know exactly what to expect - an olympic breakfast to see us through the day.
Food ok - not special but just as expected
Service quite friendly.
Bill as expected - a little on the high side but perhaps compensated by prior knowledge of location etc.
But then it went rapidly downhill.
The gents need to be completely overhauled - worn out and in some places broken equipment - not possible to clean no matter how hard they try.
I don't know what the answer is for Little Chef - but if they don't invest in the basics they will have only themselves to blame if it goes wrong.
