I've been several times to Martino's and have always been impressed by the quality & quantity of the food served. My last visit was with my husband however, I have had a large family celebration at Martino's for 20 people & this was handled with ease.

Sunday lunch with wife, baby daughter and family, certainly can't complain at the value with £5 getting a good-sized roast.

Place was very busy and staff ran off their feet. Service a tad slow in taking orders if I am totally honest, but it was the first sunny day in months so everyone had come to the beach at the exact same time. I am assured it is normally better.

Only gripe was the high chair for our daughter had the strap broken. We asked if there was another chair and the waitress said they were all like that. We struggled on, propping the daughter up with coats etc, and only on the way out did we see a stack of high chairs which would have been absolutely fine.

I am sure this is an honest mistake and would certainly not hold it against a junior staff member. The meal was great value, OK quality, and I would have no problem going back.

we first visited this restaurant shortly after it first opened, we were very impressed with every thing about it . The bar area is is pleasant to sit in while you wait for your table, the food is always excellent and the service is good. You can also get bar meals which are really good value. When you finish your meal a nice walk along the seafront is recommended to walk off all those calories.

Arrived without booking on a Sunday night around 8:35pm, shown to table. Everything good, until we noticed the waiter talking across to a table just outside of the restaurant area that was full of staff drinking. At times our table had things cleared by people from this table. Waiter uttered the words "not staying after 10". Making us feel like we needed to hurry. Another couple arrived as we were finishing our starter, the lady went to the loo for the waiter to take their drinks order and ask the man if he knew what they wanted to order as the kitchen was clearing down! He never mentioned this when he took them to the table, and reply to order of spaghetti bolognese was "the chef will love you for that". Had to share a bowl of Parmesan with this other couple as waiter had "wrapped the others" terrible rushed service. In an area where there are several Italian restaurants the service might be the deal breaker. Don't deserve my hard earned money
