“Excellent Value and close to A19”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

For £30 a night this is incredible value for money. Our room had a very modern bathroom and a flat screen TV. The rooms (we had 2) were in excellent decorative order and spick and span. Though this is your typical Premier Inn it has a couple of advantages.
It is only minutes from the A19 so travel south to Teesside or north to Tyneside is very easy, and the road into Sunderland is 70 mph, so journey time to the centre is very quick.
The other advantage are the staff who are helpful and very friendly.
See my review of the Stackyard if you want excellent pub food, about 6 miles away but mostly on the A19 southbound.

Good old Premier Inn, does what it says on the tin. Room was clean, if basic, everything worked, and the breakfasts were very good for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. They looked things up for us, and printed off instructions of how to get to local attractions. The location of this Inn is excellent, very easy to find, and superb for transport links.

Being a little outside of Sunderland centre I found this premier inn very nice accomodation indeed. It was clean and comfortable and the family room we were in was spot on. Attached to the wessington restaurant is where breakfast is served and this was very nice indeed. I have now stayed here twice and thoroughly recommend it.

Stayed here with three friends last Friday for one night on the way to a military branch dinner.
I have to say that it is the best stay in an inn of this type I have had.The rooms were immaculate and the staff very very friendly, the guy on reception (Ross) was most helpful in making our stay most enjoyable. In the morning we enjoyed a full English breakfast and even at the early hour again the young lady (Candice) who took our order was very cheerful. We all commented that when we are in the Sunderland area again,we will return to this inn.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in Feb. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Room was fine, althought the bedside lights did not work independantly of the main light swith which was a tad frustrating. Only one chair, which is fine if you are alone!
The traffice noise was bad, as the window was very old and in need of updating with decent double glazing to reduce noise.
Inside, the noise levels were very good.
Breafast, opted for the continental, purley on a prce basis, still felt this was overpriced for what it was. Yes its an all you can eat, but, for the most part, you would only eat a regular portion, perhaps reduce the proce and the all you can eat tag!
Overall average hotel and price, functional.

I stayed here for two nights in December and it was great. This is the second time I have stayed here and would recommend it. The staff are very friendly, the room was very clean and the rooms are quiet. As a woman travelling alone I felt very safe staying here.
