We enjoyed our stay here, but the room was freezing, and we both catched colds during our stay. We couldn't figure out how to turn up the AC without it turning it self back down again.
The fire alarm went off at 5 in the morning, I could not go back to sleep after that.
The maid also came into our room, without us having told her to come in after she'd knocked on the door, which was uncomfortable.
All in all a good stay

Was there last weekend with a girlfriend for some relaxing, but ended up not being very relaxed due to their sloppy policy in letting too many people in at the same time. You had to line up for everything, every little sauna, pool or shower experience was completely crowded with loud, noisy people. There was disgusting water on the floor everywhere and it felt unsanitary.
As the crowd died down on Sunday it felt a bit more relaxing and luxurious, but they really need to look at the amount of people they admit at the same time.

I had booked one massage appointment and one facial. The facial was not worth it at 190$ for 45 mins, I'll do it better myself.. The massage therapist was a joke, driving his fingers into my body and pushing here and there, it actually hurt. Farris bad also need to take a closer look at their 'therapists' and do some quality checking and have a more uniform policy on what they subject their paying customers to.

The waiting area before your spa appointment was an insult. It was small, crowded and as comfortable as a dentist's office. The dentist's waiting area probably being more comfortable...

To add injury to insult the reception area hadn't reserved a table for us in the restaurant that night, even if a time for dinner was agreed upon 6 weeks prior. They recommended we walked 40 mins to the centre of town for some Chinese food, a place we had passed earlier that day and looked everything but inviting. Luckily our last spa appointment was late enough for us to score a table anyway at the restaurant, and the food was quite good, but to turn hotel guests away for dinner is a big faux pas when one makes a reservation 6 weeks in advance.

All in all, Farris bad has some pretty big gaffes in their service and products. I don't recommend it, unless you love the hustle and bustle of 'Danskebåten' and feel relaxed there...

I visited Farris Bad and had a great stay. The location, at and above the sea was fantastic. The Spa was uniquely located at the sea and with lots of different treatments, a great spa pool, relax areas with excellent fruit, tea, coffee etc..

The only point of dissatisfaction was the mattress. Too soft, almost like sleeping in a hammock with almost to many pillows. But everything else was absolutely perfect.

Room Tip: Room as far out over the sea as possible!

Dear guest,

Thank you for the wonderful review.

We love our beds and the many pillows we offer and so do most of the guests. But ... we do understand that you would like to have a different sleep comfort. For the time we offer online one type of beds at Farris Bad.

The beds have been chosen because of the high quality - http://www.stjarnbadden.se/main/default.asp

We hope you would like to visit us again soon.

Spent two nights last week. Excelent hotel, just a few minor issues: When you come by car you will see plenty of Farris bad signs, it would be nice if at least one of these also stated "Hotel" so you know this is the right building for the hotel. Good parking in the basement with access directly to the lobby by elevator. Nice big room, good bed with plenty of pillows, but no desk for work and no place to put suitcase, but the floor or bed. Beutiful building with lots of moderne art, but why let in-room dining leftovers and plates, glasses etc be left outside a room, in the corridor for more than 24 hours? Unpleasant and strange for a hotel aspiring to top level. Had to tell reception to get it taken away. Superb breakfast, lunch and dinner, good food, interesting wines, friendly staff, nice room. The spa is also top notch, probably one of the best in northern Europe? Everything ship-shape with loads of alternatives and huge treatments menu, this is Norway so you will have to pay a bit, but again this is a top spa. At night it is very beautiful at "the island" with a hot tub and a sauna with huge windows overlooking the sea, you can even have a dip in the ocean here, but be careful with slippery stairs outdoors. This is one of the few hotels in Norway worth a trip just for the sake of staying at the hotel with the superb spa and dining possibilities.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the sea is worth the extra.

Dear guest,

Thank you for the review of yours. We liked it a lot.

You had also some other comments that we are using for internal service upgrade. We see that we have missed a pick up of room service outside the room. Not good enough for you, that means not good enough for us.

Thank you again.

Welcome back.

Wonderfully designed hotel on the shore. Beautiful sculptures by Nico Widerberg, both inside and outside, and tasteful materials, tiles, wooden particulars and bricks from the local stone larvikitt. The sea view is stupendous. Everything is perfect for a relaxing time for stressed people. A design treasure!

As for the service, I only met friendly, nice people on my stay. This is an adult hotel, I see people have complained after having had delusions with kids. Well, this is not a family hotel, so if you are planning a splash vacation, go to another place.

The breakfast is very good with a nice selection of both cold and hot dishes. I chose not to eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant, as there are other restaurants in the area.

My room, a deluxe room, had a beautiful view to the sea, an extremely comfortable bed and view to the sea from the bath tub. The bathroom was delicate, but a bit cold. No desk to work on the lap top was a small minus, I guess this is not a hotel where one come to work, but a small desk would have been nice. The room could have been bigger, but all in all, very recommended for a single person or a pair. A smell of dirty washing cloth and dirty curtains was a bit of a turn off though ...

To pay 360 NOK for 48 hours in the parking lot is robbery! This is an expensive hotel, to pay extra for the car was a delusion. I expected to get the money refunded when I checked out, but no. Bad!

Room Tip: Choose a room with sea view!

Dear guest,

Thank you for the wonderful review of yours.

The parking is an external company and unfortunatly not a price set by us. But we hope the car felt safe parked, the snow melted off and the elevator up to the room comfortable.

We hope you visit us again, soon.

Perfect surrounding, a great place to stay for a night or more. Relaxing atmosphere, really good service, not to crowded in the SPA area.
The bartender made us some really great drinks, and the 3 courses dinner was amazing. The only negative thing to point out was that the restaurant was not able to offer all the wines they had on their wine list.

We had a great room with a really nice view. The beds are sooo comfy, and the bathtub on the bathroom offers a great view as well.
We'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with seaview. Worth the extra price!
