“Absolutely amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

I brought my Indian boyfriend at home to 'meet the family' and my parents, as a welcome gift, booked us at "La Locanda" for few days. My boyfriend liked it so much that he now wants to move to Borgo!!

Beautiful hotel, cozy and comfortable - yet very elegant - room, fantastic breakfast buffet, very relaxing Spa and the most thoughtful and friendly owner (Denis) one could wish for.

A pity that next time we will have to stay at home...

The rooms are large and with spectacular design flair. We had a duplex and enjoyed sleeping with the skylight open. Breakfasts are great and the wellness centre clean and relaxing. Great base for Valle de Selle visiting

We loved spending our time in Borgo Valsugana. It has the typical cafe's, fantastic pizza' s and don't miss the piazza on Wednesday. There is always the picturesque walking tracks, where the best photo opportunities await you. Staying at Locanda is an annual event. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door is like being welcomed back home. The rooms are I immaculatly clean and spacious. The staff especially Dennis is a walking tourist information centre, taking care that you are always look after. Breakfast in the morning is beautiful and an abundance of every local produce available. Overall we are Always welcomed and that's why we always return.

Incredible building renewal from a very old house; keeping the charm and adding modern comfort with a perfect taste. Obviously the nicest decorated hotel we have on this austria-italia trip. We had a duplex room with the sleeping inder the roof. A very nice welcome. It is a small town to be discovered and closed to Trento.

Room Tip: It is fun to have a duplex suite

Spent one night at this hotel. We were a group of 20 bikers who were really well looked after. Very good location, really clean rooms, great atmosphere, nice sauna, delicious breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff. Would gladly return

Live and let live for sure but a hotel you can't check into until 5pm when you arrive in the town at 3pm surely isn't very clever???? In fact the hotel is closed for chek in from 12.30pm until 5pm" Before someone reminds me it is Italy and they have siesta, I do know this! Nonetheless, we had to wait for 2 hours to get in, it was raining stair rods and it was cold and Borgo is not the most well provided town in terms of cafes etc. No wonder Italy has a messed up economy!

Once in, we met the non-English speaking Renzo, who was delightful in a rather unprofessional way and did his best. The following morning we met the rather more professional and even more delightful Veronika.

The room was very good, the breakfast also good and it ended up fine.

Beware parking. This was a real issue.......

Northern Italy is packed in the summer, as the locals escape the heat of the large cities. A family friend, and former hotelier himself, found this excellent hotel for us. The building dates to 1775, but the interior is ultra-modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The rooms seemed a bit larger than the European standard, and the bathroom especially so. The breakfast was adequate but not extensive, and getting a large cup of "cafe Americano" proved almost impossible. Free parking was available about a quarter mile away.

There is an extensive spa/steamroom/sauna on the top floor. It looked nice, but we didn't have the time to enjoy it.

Borgo Valsugana was a pleasant town with a large market on the day we visited. The Italian lakes were about 30 minutes away, and Trento about 45 minutes. The drop-dead Dolomites were all around us.

If you're headed in this direction, this was a fine hotel.
