“Another Norwegian Spectacle ! ! !”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Once again the splendour of nature bestowed us. From the Spectacular Falls to the vast views around it was breathetaking. A short trip from Eidfjord which can be done independently or by the tourist office. Great walking paths on both sides of the river in Eidford too. One goes up into the hills where you can witness the ancient Nordic/Viking grave areas.

“the best of mother nature”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

We've stayed in Eidfjord, not far away from Voringfossen overnight. Hiring a boat to row here and there around the fjord. The waterfall itself is a few minutes drive from the city of Eidfjord and requires a short walk from the parking lot. It's nowhere near as majestic (wide) and thundery as Niagara Falls, however, it's surrounded by pristine nature, which is great, not casinos...

If you can, visit it in the afternoon hours, when waterfall is well lit, since it's falling into a deep canyon.

“Beautiful Eidfjord”
Reviewed May 23, 2012

We arrived by cruise ship to Eidfjord after traversing another scenic and narrow fjord. The town itself is very small and from here we joined a bus for a tour up to Voringsfossen. The tour included a stop at the Hardangervidda Nature Centre. Another small place with some information about the local flora and fauna with a few shops and a cafe. Part of the stop included what was described as a 20min film about the region. I was slightly sceptical about the value of this but it turned about to be spectacular and presented in almost 3D style in a large theatre and definitely not one to miss. The drive from there was very enjoyable until we reached the Fossili Hotel by the waterfall. What a view - tremendous. We made our way back stopping at various scenic points all of which were exceptional.
