“Unique hotel for a quiet getaway”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

I stay at the Villa several times a year. It has a special atmosphere to stay in this historic building. It is a special treat when you arrive at night with the lights illuminating the front of the building. There is a touch of "Rosamunde-Pilcher" feeling. Rooms are nice with plenty of space. There is a large garden with a pool and you can take one of the hotels bikes to go for a ride around the lake which is close by. Take a room on the right side of the building to have a view on the lake. Food and service is OK but nothing special. If this hotel was in a "real" city then it would only be a 3 star hotel and not 4 stars. If you want something unique for a decent price then I can recommend the Villa Borghi.

Room Tip: Room 101 is a real treat as it das authentic style furniture with two large rooms, great for a coupl...

The building was very grand and a delight for me and my wife to stay in such a beautiful building on our honeymoon. However my wife described the woman at the reception to be like an old matron from boarding school how was lacking in customer friendliness We had the expensive dinner there which would have been fine only for the quality of the food and service was very poor. They initially told us that it was going to rain and that we should sit inside, the reason being that they were to lazy to make a table outside for us. I ordered veal for my main which turned out to be a cheap schnitzel . I had a tirmasu for desert and received a pineapple sponge with cream that was frozen in the middle. I complained that it was frozen in the middle and was told that it was correct. I asked why there was pineapple in the tirmasu and was told it was a fruit tirmasu i then asked where the egg yoke and mascarpone sauce was and was told the the ingredients were correct. So my advice would be stay well clear of the restaurant which treated me like i was just a tourist that wouldn't be back and therefore it was ok to throw out the leftovers from the bottom of the freezer.

WE stayed here during a layover in Milan. IT is only a short 20 ride from Malpensa. An old Grand Dame of a hotel that is quite lovely, but in need of some tender loving care. The gardens are crying out for some attention. While barely a four star hotel, it could easily be a five star with the right attention to the grounds and hotel. Having said that, everything was very nice. Room was large and comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The staff was quite accommodating but very small. It seems that everyone does multiple jobs and are occasionally scarce. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We reserved a junior suite but got Room 202 which was only a large bedroom.

I've been to Villa twice: for selebration of my friend's wedding and for my wife's birthday. Both parties were excellent, the terrace easily accomodated about a 100 people and everyone enjoyd it! Interior of the restaraunt and lobby is old-stile, though rooms were recently renovated. Location is convinient for driving from Malpensa, it's only a 15 km away. Everything was excellent, though food in the restaraunt could be better

Remodeled! 1600's Villa with huge comfortable rooms and period antiques. The staff was super and extremely helpful. The food was wonderful and the views from the hotel were stunning. I highly recommend this hotel!

I was fortunate enough to stay at Villa Borghi for business meetings. It is a beautiful location for working. Even though they aren't really set up as a business hotel, they did a wonderful job accommodating us. The rooms are beautiful, the food was good, the service was good, and the wifi was fast. The only negative was the mosquitoes, but they provided sprays to try and help with that.
