My dream to go to the Artic regions came true,to actually get married in an Ice Chapel was Fantastic,to sleep in a Ice hotel "Wow" I had to keep pinching myself was this real.
If you have a dream no matter what it is,it will come true. The hotel, staff, and everything about it was very much worth more than money.
The Reception was excellent,as for my cake it was Norwegian it brought tears to my eyes.
I hope to go back one day,I'll dream again that I do,and lets see!. So what are you waiting for "Go for it"

We have just returned from our holiday in Norway, which we finished at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel in Alta. We felt very priviliged to have been able to sleep inside this excellent piece of art! The hotel was much larger than we had imagined and even though we had seen it on tv and had seen some pictures on the web, in reality it is such a breathtaking experience...

We had the whole place to ourselves, which was actually rather nice. Outside it was really cold (minus 25 degrees C) but even though it was tremendously cold, we did dare to go outside into the hot tub, which was great fun!

We had the very best dinner in Norway, and Johnny made us a superb menu! Also the buffetbreakfast was wonderful and up to 5 star standard!

On the whole, it was really special to sleep the three of us in sleeping bags on reindeer skins... an experience of a lifetime. It's a lot of money - we know - but absolutely worth it for 1 night!

It is a very special experience to sleep in an ice hotel. We also got the opportunity to enjpy the Aurora Borealis fom the jacuzzi (after arguing with the hotel owner, and we found that a little bit troublesome). Food was great, but not out of the extraordinary. This trip must be combined with a snow mobile ride in the mountains (the hotel provides everything here).

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night as part of a 3 night trip to Alta arranged with Scantours. It was my partners 40th birthday and we had hoped to see the northern lights, but the snow clouds set in and it wasn't to be. However, the whole experience couldn't have been better for us - we were the only guests staying in the igloo. Apart from a wedding reception in the evening, we had the place to ourselves - magical! We were upgraded to an ice suite, had the hot tub to ourselves, dinner when we wanted, personnal service at the bar and our own snowmobile guided tour - all perfect. The igloo inside is stunning, intricate ice carvings by Jonny the chef and a wonderful blue light everywhere. The sleeping bags provided kept us warm all night (remember a warm hat and socks). The reindeer skins were abit on the lumpy side but you can relax in the hot sauna in the morning! The hotel is in a stunning location by the frozen river, which you can walk along and the snowmobile trip through the forests and upto the plateau is breathtaking. The snowmobiles are easy to use and all the warm clothes are provided. The staff were also pleased to help and went out of their way to make the stay special.
Obviously we were very lucky to be the only guests and the atmosphere would be different with more people there, but the setting and the experience of sleeping in ice would still be the same and like nothing else you are likely to have done. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night in the Iglo hotel. The food was excellent and we were given little appetisers as we waited for dinner - yummy! The main part of the hotel (not the ice part) was warm, comfortable and extremly clean. We were slightly concerned at leaving our belongings in a shared luggage room which everyone had access too, but everyone did this and we had no problems.
The staff were extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. They even went out of their way to come and tell us individually when the northern lights had appeared outside. The staff even helped surprise me with a bottle of champagne and engagement ring as my boyfriend proposed in the hot tub!
The rooms in the Igloo were small, but the beds were pretty comfortable (if you ignore the slight doggy smell of the reindeer skins...).
If you do stay, take the opportunity to go on the snowmobile safari which leaves just outside the igloo hotel in the morning - breathaking!
