We read the reviews for various restaurants in Alta. When we arrived, we were quite exhausted but found the menu at our hotel a little stuffy (things you could find any where in Norway, pretty much). So, we thought we'd walk to Alfa Omega and see whether it was ok. We found the decor to be charming. Unlike one reviewer who found the U shape to be disconcerting, it wasn't actually a problem for us. The servers tried very hard but seemed a little scattered. The English language version of the menu was hilarious - someone really thought when they were doing the translation. We enjoyed several very good dishes and the local beer was just fine. (Foodspotting has pictures.) What was surprising is that they took the time to put interesting twists on traditional dishes.
