“Finnish aviation history”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

To get a view of the aviation history in Finland, this place is a must visit. Conveniently located near the airport with good parking. If you are an enthusiast, reserve enough time to go through everything. Mabye not the best place for couples (my wife does not appreciate my love for aviation.) :) Mostly civil aircraft but also some memories from the military industry. Talk to the front desk for a more detailed tour!

“A leap back in aviation”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Excellent place with some gems in past aviation as the other reviewers have already explained. The exibition is not that huge so you'll be able to go it through in 1-2 hours. Easy access, no grouds, just old planes etc. near the Helsinki Airport (which is actually in Vantaa). If you like planes, have a couple of hours to spare, why not to visit the place? Also with the kids who have entered the age when all mechanical and/or connected to the army is of interest. Be there in the warmer months though since the hall might be a bit chilly during winter.

“Mostly civilian planes”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Finnish Avition Museum is situated near Helsinki Airport but can be reached by bus quite easily from Helsinki city centre (bus 612 next to railway station). The museum has mostly civilian planes but there are also couple of MiG-21s, a Vampire, a rare Polikarpov UTI-4 etc. There is also a Messerschmitt 109 G6 in WW" Finnish AF colours shown on a special display until 29 September 2013.

Only negative side with the museum is that the halls are (almost) too full of planes and other aeromemorabilia so if you are a plane buff taking good photos is not easy. Also better lights in the halls would be good as the place is rather gloomy. The museum has a gift shop with books etc for sale and a cafeteria.

“Wonderful aviation display”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

This is worth the visit, especially in the warmer time of the year.
Needless to say priceless gems as aircraft are there to be seen.

The only thing that breaks the heart is to see those two MiG 21 fighters (one F type and the other bis) still in the outside unprotected. This will hopefully be corrected before it's too late.

“What a gem for the aviation enthusiast”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

This place is awesome! For 8 Euro you can visit all types of airplanes. Civilian, military, etc. For me the best was the Kar Air DC-3 and the ability to enter the refurbished SK CV440! wow the seats in that bird make today's travel like a bus bench! Enjoy this little oasis!
