Walking past the bakery, we could not resist all the beautiful little cream cakes on display at the window, and decided to have cake and tea here. The manager of the place comes across as really sour, but the young waitresses were very friendly. One of them took the pains to explain what was in every single one of the cakes, to help us make a decision.
My partner took a chocolate and caramel one, while I chose a raspberry mousse. We had a blood orange and a blueberry tea to go with those, and they were delicate.
Just a word of warning - when my partner ordered one tea each, he was not told that the teas were served in teapots. We sat and struggled through about a good litre (that's a quart for the Americans) of tea each, and there must be some universal law against not having the right cake to tea ratio as it really does diminish the pleasure.
At any rate, it was still a wonderful experience, especially since this bakery really does know how to make amazing pastries.
