“Great location, terrible Breakfast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Great location, easy walk or like us almost always the bus, you can also take the bus to Hotel Santa Fe and walk 2-3 min. Great atmosphere and children friendly Cowboy Town. The room was ok. Waited around 10 min for check in, lucky it was not longer. Very nice and friendly staff !
No Wi-fi anywere in the Hotel.
The worst thing about the Hotel is the Breakfast, you choose your 30 min time card at check in, and its completely manic in there ! Never seen so many people "steal" what lookes like bread for the whole day !

I stayed here with some friends last summer and this was a good hotel for us to stay in. The price is probably the most appealing part of staying in the Cheyenne whether you are a family looking for a budget trip to DLP or just friends looking for a good deal then choose here. The rooms are comfy with clean bathrooms and the staff are very helpful and prompt at coming to deal with any problems you have with your room. Breakfast is mediocre and needs improving, but I think that is common with most budget DLP hotels.

If you are deciding whether to stay outside of the Disney Hotels for a better deal just remember that you won't be getting early magic hours and extras (which are usually free if you book with Disney) such as the Disney Express luggage service. Would definitely stay here again, it's only a 15 minute walk to the park and has a great shop, bar and play area for children.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the bar and play area - it can be a bit noisy in the evenings if you have childr...

This hotel is in a great location so you can easily walk to parks. However, it could be much improved. Breakfast is terrible and completely manic (as is evening buffet), queuing for check in can take over an hour (not a pleasant experience with tired kids and not so much as an apology from staff) and expect to pay a 25 euro deposit for a kettle in room (NB, no tea or coffee is supplied). Rooms are small but in a cute cowboy theme, bathrooms need updating and general repair too. Teppees and playground in hotel was closed throughout our stay and this was not advertised to us before or upon arrival. Cowboy theme is followed through hotel very well. Laundry room is tiny - only two washing machines for entire hotel and one was broken throughout our stay. Food and drinks in hotel were very expensive.

Room Tip: Choose a quiet one near rio grande

We have stayed at this hotel twice now, most recently over the New Year 2013 and the first time in January 2011.

It is basic but it is clean and comfortable and an excellent base for exploring DLP. It has a nice bar area and the cold breakfast is nice. It is a 10 minutes walk along the river to the parks, which we did every morning and night - we found it easier than the squashing on the bus.

Although I really enjoyed being there over New Year, I don't think I would pay the price to do this again. It was over double what we paid for going later in January in 2011 and although there was more shows etc. the parks were so busy it was difficult to get on the rides - and when you are paying double the price I think I'd avoid the peak times in future.

Myself and my husband have stayed here three times now and we love it! Everything in the hotel is perfectly themed and the staff are beyond helpful. There has been the occassional broken tile in the bathroom but that is the only issue we have ever had with the room. We have always been able to get our preferred sitting for breakfast and there has always been plenty of food and tables available.

The last time that we visited there was a severe snow storm and the staff were amazing. We decided to talk back from the parks as the queue for the bus was huge and when we got back from the hotel we were soaked from head to toe. We walked through the hotel lobby and a member of staff approached us with towels and offered us an alternative bag for the food that we had bought in Disney Village as it was paper and had disintergrated in the snow. The next morning paths had been cleared in the snow to help guests safely get around.

The free shuttle bus to the parks is amazing but we tend to walk, enjoying the walk along the river and through Disney Village.

I think this hotel is amazing value for money! I have never eaten in the hotel, always choosing to go to Disney Village and loving Annette's Diner.

Was like stepping onto a set of a western.

The room satisfied our needs as we only really used it for sleeping.

There is a shuttle bus to and from Disney, but you could probably walk it as it only takes 5 or 10 minutes.

Breakfast was included in the price but it is just a continental but still plenty to choose from.

When we went there was photo opportunities with Disney Charecters, for an extra charge.

We stayed at the Cheyenne between June 12 and June 16 and had a great time. Myself, my wife and two childeren 4 1/2 & 2 1/2. Yes the rooms are very dated and would benefit from a bit of tlc but then this is a budget hotel as far as disneyland is concerned. There is very little within the area of the hotel, there is a bar, the restaurant and a general store which mainly sells the same things you can buy in the park but does sell some sweets, bottles of fizzy drinks, cans of beer and bottles of wine. Be warned it is pricey with a can of beer costing €4 and wine costing €15. We needed to buy milk for our 2 1/2 year old son and small 150ml carton of uht cost €1.60. (Tip: there is a Starbucks in the disney village and if you stop in to buy a coffe the staff seem quite happy for you to fill up the kids milk cups no problem).

The western theme of the hotel is very well done and 'very disney' but was completely wasted on the kids!

The staff all seemed very friendly and were always very helpfull. We needed extra pillows as the ones supplied were not sufficient, had to chase once but then they arrived with us 10 mins after the second phone call and that was the worst the level of service we received during the entire trip.

Some people have said that they did not get a kettle in the room but this was not an issue for us. We stayed in the wild bill hick block (room 2062) and it was very noisy at night. Saying that, we had exhausted ourselves so much round the park each that it never kept us awake. Furthermore, being close to the canteen meant we could nip back to the room after breakfast before heading out to meet the characters. There are characters outside the front from 8 am everyday but there can be queues for the more popular ones. We went out 3 mornings and got Pluto, Minnie and Mickey so they don't send out poor characters either and it really set our daughters day off to a great start.

A common theme on trip advisor is to make sandwiches at breakfast time and it is fair to say the most people seem to do this. Even fast food in the park for a family of 4 will set you back €40+ and since you have to buy evening meals as well it's worth using some of the vast volumes of food provided a breakfast to save on buying lunch. The park is full of drinking fountains as well reducing the need to buy drinks if you take a bottle and fill up. On breakfast we always got down for just after 7 even though we had cards for 7:30 and this was never an issue. It was clear that towards 8 o'clock things do get very hectic.

There is a regular bus running to the park which we never seemed to wait for for longer than 5 mins either side.

We ate out every night and having eaten at the rainforest cafe, and the Walts American restaraunt in the park it seemed the best food was actually served at the hotel. None of the food was great and it was expensive (approx €70 for 2 adults and 1 child as we didn't need to buy for our son) but if you go prepared you won't end up being surprised/disappointed.

It's pricey but worth it in my opinion. As a special treat for the kids they couldn't have asked for more!

Room Tip: Wild Bill Hick block is near buses and canteen but it is noisy. If you have young children it'll...
