“Romantic Relax Weekend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Great stay in a beautiful village! Even though a bit far, trip through the woods was great! Stayed in superior studio with fireplace, very clean, quiet, with private veranda, facilities such as kettle, glasses, etc. Breakfast also very tasty, with variety! Only thing is that reception closes at 9 approximately, so if u need more wood for the fireplace, ask early! Ask for matched as well! Definitely going back again soon! Perfect for short relaxation weekends!

Room Tip: Upper floor superior suite (fireplace and private veranda!)

I had high expectations for this place. Lets start in the room. I ordered an executive room (paid more than a normal room) and was disappointed by the following. The shower had no curtain or could close in some way. This meant that all the water flooded the bathroom, not letting you enjoy a nice shower and had to hurry up and finish. The room was nice, it would have been better to have central heating rather than air-conditioning which makes the air very dry and discomforting. There where only 2 very thin pillows on the bed, instead of the expected 4 which you would expect. We didn't get much sleep because of this discomfort. The ceiling walls are very thin and you can here all the noises, footsteps, water in the shower and toilet of your upstairs neighbour. This was the worst.

The restaurant was good, nice food, a bit expensive but it is expected. There was absolutely no staff in their cafe / library and we had to leave the area and go somewhere else to order.

The most provocative part is that I notices, after a few days, that major coupon sites are giving offers of half the price of what I paid and major discounts on the eating areas. The management should of at least informed us of these special offers for we feel ripped off.

Generally it is a good place to visit but would not suggest it at the moment, for they have a lot of improvement still.

Dear Guest,

I am sorry for any inconvenience that you had with the accomodation I have perSonally looked into the matter and if you could be so kind in contacting me directly to discuss this matter on apapa@casalepanayiotis.com . In the Library Cafe we have a buzzer system and signs on every table explaining how to call the staff once again we apologize for not explaining that on during the orientation of our communal areas .
Lastly , we have constant promotions in various magazines and websites we did not inform you of these promotions as during the festive season we did not have them running .
Thanking in advance

This hotel Casale Panayiotis is unique, and has all the facilities for a great stay. The designers have really made a great job. We stayed in a superior studio with a fireplace. The room was spacious and renovated with a nice bathroom with a rainshower. The only drawback was the fact that the firewood was wet so we couldn't have a proper fire. The cava bar is beautiful and worth a visit, as well as the new cafe/library 'epikentro'. Also, the new spa and a roof garden are being constructed just above the river, opposite st john monastery. Kalopanayiotis is a very calm and quiet village with friendly people and stunning views. Overall, this is the best place for a weekend in nature.

We stayed in the hotel for one night during the end of December 2013. The location is stunning and the hotel itself is a brilliant concept, engulfing the beautiful village and region of the Troodos mountains.

The check-in was smooth, however we did see a plate of food in the reception. I have nothing against the staff eating well during festive seasons, but avoid doing it in front of guests.

Room has good facilities, DVD player, TV, satellite channels, really great to cosy up during a cold night. The bathroom was adequate with natural olive products, but one of the towels had a huge hole in it, which either means housekeeping missed it or they do not have enough towels.

The room was generally clean but we also found pasatempo (nuts) shelves on the floor.

The F&B is the main challenge that needs viewing, the hotel i believe was relatively full so one would imagine they would be properly staffed during the busy festive season. However the staff were too busy and even when we ordered a glass of wine it never came. The F&B manager (?) was a good man, and offered us some buffet food at 1530 as we asked where we could have a bite to eat. He said it would be for free as we would do him a favor if we didn't order and served ourselves from the buffet. We never asked for free, and would have actually preferred proper service than doing people favors. At night time the same manager was in service with one poor waiter who was completely overwhelmed. The trout (regional speciality) was not the best quality as it was frozen, which is a shame especially as it is a abundant in the area.

The Cava bar is also beautiful, but if you want to order a bottle of wine, you need to go across to the same busy restaurant and ask a waiter to come , or they simply give you a bottle with the opener. Not quite sure if they could be real profitable with this type of new concept.

The spa is stunning , however again service failed them, the only person working (reception and massages ) could not speak English and was actually fully booked for all massages, as she was alone.

Overall for €98 the location was very nice and the hotel was keeping faithful to the Cyprus Troodos experience, however they need to take care of some basic service standards.

Room Tip: Chose a room with a view of the mountain

Casale Panayiotos is not your typical agrotourist destination. It has been built with passion (meraki in Greek) and this can be seen everywhere. Do not miss their Pantheon cafe with its excellent burgers or their relaxing two floor library. Their wine cellar is unique and if you are a big group you can arrange to dine at their royal table there.

In all Casale Panayiotis is perfect for a weekend in nature.

I was really looking forward to visiting this inn, but trouble began from the time I called to make the reservation. Still despite the very rude foreign receptionist that was no help at all when booking the room (to explain to us the room types etc) we made the booking and a week later off we go. BTW we booked the 2nd most expensive room available because the inn was fully booked, I found out when I called to confirm the room a few days later by another lady that answered the phone that with AMEX credit card we could get a discount, so that made me feel a bit better. Checking in was OK we went for lunch first and then we went back to the reception so they can take us to the room. The lady that I had originally spoke on the phone with, that was anything but polite took us to the room. The room was tiny and claustrophobic! I cannot imagine how the standard rooms are if this, the upgraded room was so small! This is basically the major fault of the room we had the rest of the features were OK, definitely not value for money but OK… calling the reception and inquiring about other room sizes and if they had any other room available the response was “this is how the rooms are” full stop. Again the killer customer service. Check out time and I take out and place my AMEX card in front of the receptionist (the same receptionist) she prints the bill and I notice no discount, so I mention it. She said to me that we are allowed the discount for the accommodation, I replied saying that we are also allowed the discount from the restaurant and instinctively she replied that the discount from the restaurant has already been deducted in the bill provided. I very patiently said to her that this is not the case and I am sure about this and that she should call and check. After a few annoyed facial expressions she did and I was right. About 5-8minutes later she managed to deduct the discount and print the final bill. We paid and we left!!! To be fair, the restaurant staff were very polite and very helpful and the food was good.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the beautiful Casale Panayiotis and will definitely be returning very soon. From the moment we arrived we were treated extremely well by each member of staff. We stayed in room 21 which is a one bedroom suite. It was beautiful and we had everything that we needed.
We would like to say a special thank you to Mr Andreas, the General Manager, who did all he could to make our stay perfect. All of the staff in the restaurant and the Spa were amazing. Thank you to Maria and her staff for feeding us so well. The quality of food was excellent from breakfast through to dinner. The only thing missing at breakfast was fresh juice.
The Spa was amazing and such a beatiful relaxing place. Full marks to the Architect and Interior designer. We paid just over 40 Euros for a 60 minute massage, and had one of the best massages ever!
Really looking forward to returning in the New Year.

Room Tip: Choose an room on top floor as there is less noise.
