“So relaxing”
Reviewed April 11, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We had an excellent week at the Barn, in the lovely accommodation, we really liked the style of the renovation. It was really comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The kids aged 12 and 10 loved the tennis court and the field was great for a game of cricket. Great location for Putsborough Beach and walking distance to Croyde, the local pubs were great and all dog friendly. We were all totally relaxed by the end of the week!!!

“best of both worlds”
Reviewed March 31, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Perfect base for a holiday in this beautiful area. The Barn has been sympathetically converted and is very comfortable, being equiped with everything you need. Certainly get the best of both worlds here, as The Barn sits in a peacefully rural setting amongst other white washed thatched buildings with a pretty stream running past its gate; yet just across the opposite field is the coastal path with fantastic panoramic views of the 3 mile beach up to Woolacoombe. This walk takes about an hour, either along the beach or the coastal footpath - both are beautiful.

In the opposite direction is the headland called Baggy Point, with extensive coastal views. Croyde is on the other side of the headland.

We had a really enjoyable stay at The Barn, and had a great time exploring the local area. We found The Thatch in Croyde and The Kings Arms in Georgeham to be excellent places to eat. Both being welcoming and dog friendly, (important to us as we were holidaying with our canine companion)..

We would love to return to Putsborough and have no hesitation in recommending The Barn as a great place to stay.

“An Idyllic stay”
Reviewed March 7, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

A beautiful picturesque Cottage :) .
The Kitchen has everything you could need, the lounge area is comfy & cosy, and the bedroom and en-suite (jacuzzi Bath) are perfectly sized & beautifully finished. We were extremely luckily with the weather and made the most of visiting Putsborough bay and exploring the neighbouring bays via the coastal path . Lovely pubs with excellent food within walking distance. We very much hope to return next year.

“Picture Perfect Putsborough”
Reviewed February 11, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

What a find! Such a lovely place to stay even with Storm Imogen blowing by. The Barn is a cosy place and had everything we needed for the three of us and Ralph our Sausage Dog. Comfy lounge area, two good size bedrooms and bathrooms and the kitchen was very well equipped. It has a garden and a good patio area with a BBQ which would be glorious on a sunny day or a warm evening. Claire was very welcoming and we have to agree with her that the Kings Arms in Georgeham do great food. Just a short walk away is Putsborough Beach which is sand all the way to Woolacombe Bay. If the weather had been kinder we would have walked from one end to the other and back, finishing at the beach cafe for a cream tea. Oh well, we will just have to go back when the weather is better.....

With a trickling stream and just a handful of cottages next to its thatched manor house, Putsborough is both peaceful and very beautiful.

It is a perfect spot for exploring the local area by car or by foot, and is a great place for those who like to spend a few hours (or more) chilling on the beach, or even being a bit more active in the surf.

The Barn itself has been converted sympathetically, retaining a number of original features and combining these with modern styling and conveniences. It has a small enclosed garden, which is perfect for letting the dogs out securely (there's a bbq for the sunnier days), and the nearby beach and even closer paddock are perfect for throwing the ball and having a doggy run.

I very much hope to return again soon!

“Perfect couple's (plus hound) retreat”
Reviewed January 20, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

This was our second year at Putsborough manor. We stayed in the cottage the first time and loved it, but for a couple, The Barn is even better. The accommodation is very well done, modern, but in keeping with the aincient character of the exterior. It has all the amenities we could want. With short days and chilly weather in Jan, it's great to be able to curl up in front of Sky Movies in an evening with the underfloor heating making it toastie. Really can't think of anything I'd change.

The location is outstanding. A short walk or an even shorter drive to Putsborough sands, which is a lovely flat Sandy beach. Croyde is walkable too, take the coast path is the weather is even half reasonable.

For dog owners, the fully enclosed garden is very handy, plus a thoughtfully positioned hose pipe by the front door sorts out muddy paws out. Our dog is normally on the lead at all times, but we took the oopurtunity to give him run around in the enclosed field opposit, on the way to the beach.

All in all, the best holiday rental we have had in UK

“A Bona Fide Winner!”
Reviewed November 17, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We stayed in Putsborough Manor Barn with our dog for a long weekend in November. It is a perfect little place to get away, go for windswept walks on the beautiful nearby beach, sit back and relax and venture out to some of the area's fine drinking/eating establishments. The cottage is fantastically presented with everything you need and feels like home straightaway. Indeed, you feel like you are missing out when you are not spending time there! In a very convenient location, we don't have a bad word to say about it. Well worth a stay and definitely requires a re-visit. Spot on!!
