“cafe could be better”

i was really looking forward to the cafe but it could have been so much better - maybe they are complacent due to the absolute beauty of their location. some aspects of their tannoy call and polysterene container servicce maybe would be legitimate during high season but on a windy autumn day they could adapt and upgrade to justify the not insubstantial price levels. I was really impressed to see Devon Crab Salad. Pre paying my £11 i waited for my tannoy call with great expectation. The takeawy box was the first disappointment, the size and standard of salad was the next - the crab itself was lovely. i had read reviews talking about local prodcue and being able to order daily newspapers etc - maybe the team has changed as i did not witness any such service. my overall vote would be that they are lucky to have such a unique and remote location that means they can get away with the standards - but they could do so much better

Looks like a nice place but we never got to see it as we refuse to pay the 7 pound parking fee
We only wanted to stay for 2 hours and explained it at the gate but they don’t have the facility to pay by the hour

Beautiful sandy rugged beach. Ideal for walkers, surfers, family days, children, dogs. Perfect cafe/shop just below the car park

Walked from Lee Bay to Putsborough Sands to meet friends.
Amazing beach which joins Woolacombe beach so is absolutely huge.
The best thing for us was that the majority of the beach is dog friendly and they don't have to be on the lead.
It doesn't get as busy as Woolacombe which is a bonus.
The shop was brilliant serving all sorts of bit and pieces for the beach and plenty of great food and drink.
The showers by the shop were excellent for washing sand off feet ready for the journey home.

This is a great beach, very clean and the beach shop has good food and drinks, but pricey. Toilets are well maintained. Parking prices are very expensive, the most expensive we used in the area (£7.00).
