The food was excellent and the wide range of beer was well kept. Our dogs were made very welcome. Highly recommended..

The previous night we had been told that the gaps in the menu would be completed the following night. We turned up at 6pm for our reservation and I asked the barman if that was the full menu, as it was the same as the previous day-still with gaps! He said it was so we ordered. Shortly after a waitress came out and proceeded to add other meals to the board!! The food was very good but I would have liked to see the whole menu prior to ordering!!
There is a good variety of real ales which pleased my husband! Booking is preferable as all the tables had reserved signs on them.

The meals are lovely, freshly cooked, amazing flavours and definitely plentiful. No room for their lovely deserts after. The place is a little tired but it suits the age of the building really. Very clean and the staff are extremely friendly and polite. Love the Rosé too. Beautiful views too.

The food in this pub is brilliant! Almost didn't write it up to keep it our secret! Difficult to find up many winding and steep roads with grass up the middle, but well worth the journey. Gourmet standard food in huge quantities (could barely manage two courses), excellent beer, welcoming staff, soulful collie. What more could you ask?

My wife and I stopped off here today, mid-walk, for lunch having checked out the reviews beforehand. The reviews are positive so we were delighted to find our expectations exceeded. Most of the draft beers are from small local breweries, well kept and just right for lunch outside in the sunshine. We shared the Ploughman's platter. The food was nicely served on a rectangular slate and featured more than enough food for two hungry walkers-mainly the usual ploughman's fare although three cheeses were included and two very tasty hot sausages. This was certainly a lunch which warranted walking for a few miles to earn it and we will certainly returned when walking in the area again. Include this pub in your walk!!
