We decide to go for a walk in Derbyshire to include a pub lunch and thought the 9 sisters stones and the Druid Inn at Birchover would be perfect. Some friends are always telling us how good the Druid Inn is.
I call ahead to reserve a table and was greeted on the phone by a very pleasant and accommodating person. We had a small dog with us and that was no problem.
The pub itself is very quaint. Log fires etc. Staff are very curtious.
the only thing is I didn't think the food was very good. The menu is a daily chalk board on the wall and the food sound lovely, not typical pub grub of pie and scampi. I had fish but the batter was fair too thick and greasy. There was also an over riding smell of cooking oil in the bar especially near the toilets.
Maybe we were there on a bad day but not one for me.
