We stayed at Green Farm Barn for a family celebration and could not have found a better place. The Barn along with the Cow Shed were superb and provided spacious and comfortable accommodation for all 14 of us. All the rooms were well equipped, and Martin, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The adjacent spa was a lovely added bonus.
The setting was idyllic with lots of local walk , the children especially loved seeing all the farm animals and exploring 'Fairyland'. Would definitely recommend.
Along with nine friends we stayed for the weekend at the Barn for two friend's 40th birthdays. What an idyllic setting. The Barn itself has everything you could possibly need. It is comfortable, warm and the facilities are all brilliant. There is a great information folder, with all you need to know about the Barn and the surrounding area. We had lunch at the King's Head just a short walk away and it was lovely. The birthday boys both had a massage treat in the spa, and Helen was a very good therapist The hot tub is located in a secluded area near the spa and it was lovely, kept at a nice temperature. It was good to have an opportunity to meet some of the farm animals and they were all so friendly! What a lovely idea to have a community garden for many young people to come along and enjoy. I can highly recommend Green Farm Barn it is a little hidden gem. Thank you to our hosts Martin and MaryAnn.
Excellent facilities, plenty of space located in nice peaceful country setting with lovely walks and accessible to all significant tourist attractions and locations.
Thanks to Martin for friendly and helpful advice.
Great country walks and a pub a few minutes walk away. The spa is literally on your doorstep and the treatments were fantastic. Rooms were very spacious and the beds super comfortable. Martin and the staff at the spa were very welcoming and accommodating.
Stayed at the barn for a pre-Xmas break.
We were a party of 10, and had a wonderful time.
We managed to get out for a few woodland walks and although we had planned to spend an evening in the hot tubs watching the 'stars', the lure of the log fire was too much.
We ate in most of the weekend, but dud venture out to the pub for a Sunday lunch and that too was excellent.
See you next year!
9 of us, including 2 toddlers and a Labrador has a fantastic week.
The layout worked perfectly for a big family as everyone can be involved all the time.
Really comfy beds and the farmland can be explored - the children (both 2) loved it.
Owner was really welcoming and helpful.
Will be back :-)
We booked Green Farm Barn for a girls weekend away and could not have found a better location.
We are nine old school friends (we have known each other for more than forty years), plus dogs. We had a fabulous, fun and utterly exhausting three days and nights of eating, drinking, country walks, playing games, watching films, spa treatments, yoga, and lots and lots of talking and laughter.
The accomodation was perfect for us, with comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, lovely area for sitting outside, enormous dining table, and enough space on the sofas for everyone to lounge in comfort around the cosy log burner.
Martin and MaryAnn are perfect hosts: the booking process was hassle-free, no question too much trouble (can we have all the beds as singles, have you got a caffetiere etc.? - the answer was always yes!), welcoming on arrival, and availabe whenever we needed them during our stay.
The on-site spa was not on our list of requirements for accommodation, but what a bonus it proved to be, with wonderful massages from Helen and Molly, and a Saturday morning yoga class.
A huge thank you to all of the team for helping to make our weekend such a success.
The area around the farm is great for country walks and the Kings Head in Shadoxhurst does a fantastic Sunday lunch.
We've been home for less than 48 hours and have already booked a return trip for 2018 - can't get a better recommendation than that!
