“Super family run hotel but drink prices are over the top”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2012

Stayed for 7 nights on a Travelsphere holiday. The town is a sleepy little place where not much happens but this family run hotel is outstanding. Our room(No 30) on the first floor was huge and very comfortable. It was serviced during breakfast every day we were there.

Breakfast is buffet style and there is a wide range of cold meats, cheese, juice, cereal and yoghurt. It was regularly restocked so latecomers still had plenty of choice. There was only one hot option of scrambled egg and bacon but this was not problem given the other things available.

The evening meal was a 3 course set menu, soup, a meat dish and a sweet. The portions were substantial with different vegetables supplied each night all superbly cooked and well presented. We had chicken one night, a large & varied buffet on another but the rest of the time pork was served. A vegetarian option was provided and it looked appetising from where I was.

The food & accomodation was excellent but where this place lets itself down was the drink prices. 2 x 500ml of beer at 8 euros, local wine at 14 euro a bottle and 2 x 330ml of water at 5 euro. Paying £4.50 for two small glasses of water is outrageous. I would recommend this hotel to all but get your booze at the Netto supermarket just around the corner and see exactly how much the mark up at the hotel bar is.

Room Tip: Try for either number 29 or 30 which are huge

My Mum and i were based at this Hotel on a Travelsphere coach holiday. It is a lovely little town where not a lot happens. It is a really nice little Hotel which is family run. The first floor has lots of interesting nicknacks from the towns history. The famly were really lovely and the food was plentiful if not very imaginative. The rooms were clean and some were very basic but others were more luxurious and there was a rumour that one had its own jacuzzi. The Hotel certainly had its own Bowling alley!! near the Hotel is a lovely modern supermarket with lovely food for any day trips out. There is NO LIFT but groundfloor rooms are available

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the Hotel if you like quiet. It is on a road which is busy early in t...
